Tominator
How long does a mallard sit on her eggs? (spare me the jokes here.) Lady at work has been giving me daily updates about a hen on her pond laying an egg a day, and i told her "yeah, she'll do that until she has about 12 eggs or so, then she'll sit on them and they'll all hatch at the same time." Then she asked me "how many days?" And I said, "I don't know, but I know a few fellers that probably do know....":D

double_drop
28-32 days. I used to raise mallards and that is what it normally took.
Tominator
28-32 days. I used to raise mallards and that is what it normally took. Thanks DD. I told her a month, and she nearly fell over, then I got to thinking "hmmmm, that does sound like a long time." Guess I wasn't too far off. RTF
Yup, most incubation periods for birds, whether chickens or ducks is about 28 days or so. Same for turkeys.
