slughunter
Has anyone ever tried setting up 12+ decoys in to one small flock? I tried it today and the results were awsome. I had put a group of 24 turkeys to bed last night so I figured if I had my own mini flock that the turkeys might hang around my decoys. The results were awsome, had the entire flock feeding within 60 yards of my set up and had 5 jakes within 20 yards of us. But the big tom stayed out of shooting range. Whats the highest amount of decoys you have used in one spot? -shane

MrWiggely
12+ no, but I have used up to 6 and always have at least 3 with me. I have had great results with 3-6 decoys out. Seems to make the toms more comfortable coming in when they see more than one bird. Wigs

elnor
I've only ever used a lone hen or one hen+one jake. That's about all I'd want to carry in my vest. But If I were hunting somewhere where I could get decoys out in advance or had others to assist in carrying and placing them, it would be an interesting thing to try having a bigger faux-flock. toddyboman
I have thought about doing something like that. Not that many but never had desire to set it all up by myself. I usually have 2 hens and 1 jake set up.
slughunter
I wouldent normally carry that many decoys out but I figured it would take a lot of decoys to get the turkeys to come in since they had over 200 yards to come, and it did the trick. But I agree I dont use much more that 4 decoys on most ocasions. -shane
Guest realtrhunter
The most I have ever used was 2, 1 hen 1 Jake. I got the Primos B-mobile and I am probally going to use all three at sometime this year. What kind of decoys did you use. I have thought of using several sillohett decoys for a flock before. Bowtech_archer07
The most I have had in the spring is 3-5 with 2-4 hens and a jake. In the fall,(last fall was my first time bowhunting birds in the fall), my buddy and I were on a flock of over 60 birds and we had a mini flock of something like 12-14 decoys.
