deer food

Recommended Posts

Ok I have tried just about every deer feed and supplement product out there and have only found that blacktail deer will eat "Buck Grub". I still have not found the right brand of corn they will eat. Its seems that they will try just about every brand, but it will only be a few bits and then they never touch it again. Does anyone have any ideas on a brand of corn that might work on blacktail deer. They are extremely picky on what they eat. Thanks

Blacktails are a little different critter than Whitetails. Our eastern food plot and feeding tricks may not work the same out there. Working on improving native food sources (if possible) may get you the best results.

I have fed a little Purina deer feed, but it is pricey. They ate it, but the deer also ate the corn and soybean I put out. The buck grub is rice bran a by-product of rice milling. If you are close to a rice mill, you could buy it there. Deer love it. It will cake up or clog in most feeders when it gets humid or damp.
