Jr and DEI.

I don't think that DEI is the best choice for him.

Speaking of ESPN, I got a kick out of watching PTI the other day. Neither of those guys are racing fans and don't have a clue about racing. Despite what Dale Jr said the reason was he jumped in the 5 car, they said that "Junior wants to go to Hendrick, that is the ride he wants".:eek: Not a bad show, but you're better off to flip channels when they talk racing.

I seen that PTI show too and I couldn't help but laugh.

I believe if Dale JR gets majority ownership things will turn around. He knows more about racing then T-Rex and he would know what kind of R&D testing and all of the other stuff to do to get the company back on top.

Don't get me wrong, if he went to another company, IE: Hendrick, Childress and so on, He could concentrate more on racing and probably produce better results. I think he wants to take over the company that his dad built and take it back to where it was before SR passed.

I agree. I think with JR. in a majority ownership role, DEI will turn around and JR will be a championship contender once again.

The only way he can DEI around is they need to hire better drivers to be his teammates. Sorry but Truex and Menard and not high caliper consistent drivers.

Now if they got Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth that would be a powerhouse of a team.

The only way it will work is to change drivers and possibly get the Eury's out of there. They are holding him back and are too hit and miss on set-ups.

You put Jr. and I hate to say this, Chad Knauss, you might see him win a Championship. Not going to win one with Eury!!!

I agree with driver changes. Look what Mark Martin has done with the 01 car.

I don't know if I'd split up Junior and Eury Jr. Remember the only season Junior didn't have a Eury with him? Someone like Knaus would definately make a big difference, but I don't see that happening.

Junior is in his early 30's already. Even though I'm a big fan of his, being completely honest I don't see him ever winning a Cup Championship. Who knows, maybe majority ownership will turn DEI around.

Earnhardt denies DEI rumors

Earnhardt denies DEI rumors

April 20, 2007 td.yspwidearticlebody { font-size: 13.5px; }

By Bruce Martin PA SportsTicker Contributing Editor AVONDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Dale Earnhardt Jr. disputed the rumor that he's been offered 51 percent ownership of Dale Earnhardt Inc. NASCAR Nextel Cup team, currently owned by his stepmother, Theresa. Reports of that agreement are premature, according to both Max Siegel, the president of global operations of DEI, and Earnhardt, who indicated if that were indeed true, he would have known about it.

"If that was the case, I'd know about it," Earnhardt said. "Things are where they were yesterday - the day before - the last couple of weeks. We're just moving along with the negotiations." Earnhardt has contended that unless he gains majority control of DEI, then he would drive for another team when his contract expires at the end of this season.

"I don't want to get hypothetical," Earnhardt said. "That's a long ways down the road. We still have a lot we need to work out. We were honest where we were from the beginning and I feel like it's hard to keep anything these days."

Earnhardt qualified 15th for Saturday night's Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway after running a lap at 131.028 miles per hour in a Chevrolet Impala SS.

Jeff Gordon won the pole with a lap at 133.136 mph in a Chevrolet. :D :D :cool:

I've said it before.

Junior will only go to one other team in NASCAR. Come on everybody... say it with me.... Junior will drive for Richarddddddddd... Childresssssssssssssssss... Racinggggggggggggggg!!!!! He's already said that in the past and well before this whole contract negotiation fiasco. I think it's a sign that EVERYBODY LOVES JR. One undeniable thing every Gordon, Johnson and otherwise fan of NASCAR has to admit is the fact that they would love to see Jr. driving for their team. I don't care if it's Hendrick, RCR, RYR, JGR, RFR, what have you, they would all love to see Jr. in their cars. It's a fact of life and even the most ardent Jr. hater has to admit it. He's exciting, can make things happen on a track and excite even the most bored fan. People love to see him win and I think he's going to RCR long before anyone expects him to leave. He's a great driver and I wonder what race he'll win this year. He's won at least one race a year for the past 7 years starting in Texas and he won 6 races in '04 alone. He can compete and has done so this year with a few problems of bad luck. It happens. Go Jr. and just watch what happens next.
