Can't wait to get this thing finished. Might take a year or two since we are doing everything ourselves. But not having a mortgage will be worth it. nutz4bucks
Looks Awesome I was looking at your sidewall sheating and had a question for ya... Is there some type of sealant on all your panel edges? looks to me like it. If it is caulk or tape....Is that code to hurricane proof them??? It caught my eye lol

It's required, but not sure what the purpose is for. I know this........we have what they call "go-bolts" that are screwed down inside the foundation and they run thru the walls up to the roof in one solid piece. And there's more hurricane clips and straps than I can count. It's pretty well built. And we used lodge-pole 2x6's in the roofing and 2nd story part instead of the regular 2x4 yellow pine. Mirage
Why did you build a wood home in florida? Not sure I would have. No offense just wondering
Guest Andrea
Why did you build a wood home in florida? Not sure I would have. No offense just wondering Ummmm.........most people do. We will brick it when it's finished. Building out of concrete is pretty expensive. Would have liked to have gone that route, but just wasn't feasible. We are not on the coast and all of our construction meets Florida requirements. ( Wind velocity, etc.)
