Guest Andrea
Really perturbed at American Idol last night. Fortunately I was busy fixing dinner so I didn't sit thru all of the show. Kinda stunk when Seacrest pulled that little stunt at the end. No one got voted off. I'm SURE that had they let it be known BEFOREhand....no one would have watched that "result" show.
Tominator
I didn't mind it. I thought it was kind of cool. What I didn't like was the fact that they gave the impression that Jordin was in the bottom two, which really frazzled her I think. Made her cry, which was cruel IMHO. Have to agree with ya very cruel to do that to Jordin. They should have done something like Chris and Jordin you both are safe versus what they did. IMO. Guest Finn
Glad I didn't watch. It seemed more like a telethon.
wtnhunt
Glad I didn't watch. It seemed more like a telethon. Flipped channels and stopped there for a few seconds, Paula was on stage at that point and it did indeed seem like a telethon, so I went right on back to changing channels. Jeramie
Well now, you shoulda known by the title of the post!!!!!!!! LOL:D Sorry Jeramie.....but it's an hour of your life you may not want to waste. Actually I enjoyed it! Seriously. I loved Jeff Beck and Kelly. That was GREAT. Jeff is one of my all time favorite blues players anyway. They broke out a start studed cast too and I liked that. My only question is how in the world did the do the Elvis thing? That was pretty dang cool. Kind of sad to see him like that though. He had so much charisma and threw it all away....
Guest Andrea
Jeramie, the technique is called Roto-Scope. they just changed the background of what Elvis was really singing in front of back in 78 to the Idol set. Then for the cut-away shots they used a stand-in impersonator. It wasn't live in front of the audience. It was pre-recorded. They did the same thing with Hank Jr. and Sr. in a video for one of their songs and likewise with Natalie Cole and her Dad Nat King Cole when they sang "Unforgettable" back in the 90's. Pretty neat, huh?

That was a disgrace IMHO.

Doc
"American Idol Gives Back" What a joke. I didn't see THEM giving back anything. Did anybody notice any decrease in the usual obscene numbers of commercials? All I saw was that they were making a huge amount of money exploiting some rather unfortunate individuals and a whole bunch of fans and corporations actually doing the giving. Personally, with the exception of a very few entertainment bits, there really was very little to watch on that whole 2 hour program. It really reminded me of some sunday morning infomercial. Yes, it was probably nice that they hosted a show to help out these unfortunate kids, but it sure seemed to me, with that title that they chose, that they were trying to take complete credit for financial contributions that everyone but them were making. And don't tell me that they didn't realize that their advertising rates would sky-rocket for that program, or that they didn't know that they were going to make a fortune playing with the mis-fortunes of others. So what was the motive for that whole program.... Was it to do good charitable works or was it just to make more additional dough for themselves?
