Guest timpat
I just got me a 336W 30-30 my first 30-30, as i am 15. I wanted to know what would be the best scope and what power would it need to be. I would like to stay within the 60.00 to 150.00 price range
robk
Re: Marlin 336w scope bushnell is a good little scope as is simmons. your going to get what you pay for but either one should help you out. the simmons 8 pointer is a good little scope and bushnell has a couple in the trophy i think would be up your alley. also the bsa scopes are not bad just check them out. if you have a walmart or a local sporting goods store close just go check and see which will work for you. the more you pay for your scope the better they are. i like the nikon buckmaster in 3x9x40 and it is high end light transmission is good and just under 200 dollars as is the burris full field 11 so if you can get some help or more money i would say try one of them or look at this site www.theopticzone.com/ rob k

bwlacy
Re: Marlin 336w scope I have a Marlin 336C with a fixed 4X with a 40mm objective lens. With good low mounts. I tried the see thru mounts for awhile and didn't like the scope being that high. I don't think you need a big variable scope on a 30-30, they aren't really a long range rifle. njbowhntr
Re: Marlin 336w scope I use a 2-7x32 Nikon Prostaff. My scopes take some abuse, they ride in an ATV scabbard. Scope has stayed on zero all season.
johnf
Re: Marlin 336w scope I would go with a Nikon a fixed 4X32. You can get one for $99 at Wal*Mart. With a 30-30 you don't need a 3x9, but if you want one I would go with the pro-staff. For $150 it's probibly the best 3x9 you can get. I've got a simmons 8pt. on my Marlin 336 right now. In good light it's a great scope. But you won't be able to see your target in low light like you can with any of the nikons.
