John is just so wired its hard not to like the guy! Like seeing the Bernsteins too, still dominating in top fuel and this time its Brandon instead of old Kenny!! I was shocked when I seen Kenny decided to go to Funny car. Almost thought when I seen the bracket it was a misprint! Kenny can flat out drive!! Teamwork is a must as those guys have a craft of tearing those cars and bikes down and getting them back together for another round. Do that all day long, wow, where do I sign up!! Steven Posted May 3, 2007 Report Share Posted May 3, 2007 I love Drag Racing. Far superior to boring old drive in circles racing. 7000 horsepower, 330+ MPH. It simply can't be beat. I went to round 1 of qualifying for the Summit Southern Nationals last friday in Commerce, Ga. I've been every year since they began when I was 7 years old. I loved seeing Ashley Force send John packing in round one Sunday. I'm just not a fan of John's. He dominated funny car for years but look what's happening now that some talented drivers are showing up- he hasn't won a round yet this year. I'm a life-long Kenny Bernstein fan and I like seeing Brandon bringing his old Bud King back to the top. I'm actually wearing a Bernstein shirt right now with the new Monster funny car on it. Lou, it's not really a surprise Kenny's in a funny car, that's where he made his name and won 4 of his 6 championships. I believe had he stayed in a funny car his entire career, John Force wouldn't be John Force, he'd be just another driver. You have to give John Force credit though, he is to NHRA what Earnhardt was to NASCAR, John is what makes it great, and he won because he was good, plain and simple, you want to be the best and when John was on his game and Austin had that car tuned he was unstoppable. But on a somber note John's mind is not on racing this year, when Eric died a part of John did too. He is now trying to make the cars safer and if he doesn't win another round this year or another championship but he can prevent another death to the sport he is a winner in my book!!
