need2hunt
Well yesterday morning started off slow, only heard 2 birds gobble and they only gobbled once or twice each. After a while I decided to go to a different property. I spotted a bird all puffed up in a green field and I moved slowly moved into position. I used a slate call from redbeard and bowhunter56 to sweet talk him in. Jake that went 16 lbs. 4" beard and nubs for spurs (1/4") We'll be heading back for the weekend still trying to get the girls a bird. Things have been strange in MO this year, in fact yesterday was the first day I was able to get a bird to gobble after 8 a.m. I'm hoping that this weekend will be the highlight of the season with at least one of the girls scoring, but we'll just have to wait and see.
