Tom2008
What kind of drop away rest are you using? I've been told that Trophy Taker makes the most durable ones and I can't go wrong with one. There are a lot to look at it and I'm just not sure which one to choose so I'm looking for some opinions. I like the looks of the Trophy Taker Pronghorn though. All opinions accepted and thanks. okiedog
I'am using a Mathews and a Cobra Diamondback.
Tom2008
I have come up with another question. On a lot of drop aways I see that the prong is all metal. Does that make a lot of noise when pulling a carbon arrow back on it?
Tom2008
Nevermind about that last question I figured it out on my own. Trophy Taker site has an easy way to work with it. Silencing Tips
arrow32
I use a Hoyt dropaway made by NAP great rest. Those Mathews are good rests and the Trophy Takers are pretty good also.
hoyt_hunter
ive got a trophy taker shakey hunter and absolutely love it. this year they came up with basically the same design except there's a oh how do u put it....cage around it so your arrow wont fall off the rest. Its really inginuitive and i like the looks of it
maddhunter
Fall Away Rest I've been useing a ripcord for almost a year now. I had a wisker biskit first, loved it: then went to the Trophy Taker SH, loved it too. Then I got the best of both worlds, the Ripcord. It is a fallaway rest that has the arrow containment of the biskit. There are several diferent versons of this rest and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. What I like about the Ripcord is how the cord ataches to the cable with a football type clamp instead of tieing a knot. The cord is atached internally to the rest, don't have to worry about any knots slipping on either end. Here's a link for the Ripcord. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_79501_400014013_400000000_400014000_400-14-
Guest okla_bowhunter
Does that make a lot of noise when pulling a carbon arrow back on it? It comes with a kind of fleece fabric to put over the prongs. I shoot a Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter, and i really love it. I won't be changing to anything different any time soon. Tom2008
Ok well I think I'm leaning towards the Ripcord that Dwin suggested. Its only $5.00 more than the pronghorn and it I like the way it looks a lot better. I also like the idea of how the arrow is held in place. coles
Def. go with the Ripcord. i like the fact that it will hold your arrow on even if you turn your bow upside down. and the best part is that they are made by a guy right here in Dillon where i am goin to school. Crazy huh? this guy is making a fortune now. i hope to get one for my bow soon.
wheelin99xj
Look at the QAD Ultra-Rest also. Works a lot like the ripcord, full containment. The think I like better about the QAD is that the rest will stay up on a let down. And also you can get the Hunter series for $50 so that helps too. I have one and really like it. Any of the rests above will be good though.
QDMAworks4me
I just put a Ripcord on my Drenalin and love it, would strongly suggest it to you.
Jeramie
You wont go wront with the TT either. Honestly once you switch to a drop away youll be so impressed the brand wont make a difference! Ive used both the Nap Quicktune and the TT. I still have the TT. Great fall aways.
AdvantageTimberLou
I have a Vital Bow Gear Kazaway drop away rest. Love it, full containment, I can spin the bow anyway I want and the arrow just sits in the cradle and does not move at all! Great rest, can't go wrong with it. Simple to tune too!! Leo
If you have an above the arrowrest hole cable bar. I'd say go with the Muzzy Zero Effect. But make sure the guy installing it knows what he's doing!!! Flubbed installs on this rest happen way too often!! Otherwise I'd go with a Copper John Alley Cat. This is a terrific cable style drop away quite a few of my friends use.
Tom2008
Thanks you all so much for all the input, but I put in my order tonight at my proshop. I decided on the Ripcord and I'm getting it for $80! On there site it was for $95 and on Bass Pro it was for $85 so I'm getting a good deal. I can't wait to try her next week. dlriggins
you will love the ripcord I have used one for about 3 years and it has got to be one of the most simple rests to set up I put mine on in the pro shop and five minutes later was slinging arrows and the fact that it can be left in the cock position is awesome I think you made the right choice
Chrud
I'm using a Schaffer on my Switchback. Schaffer makes three models, the MAT-1 (Mathews), TEC-1 (Hoyt) and the GEN-II (BowTech and others). They are designed to "lock on" to the riser. Rather than bolting the rest on and adjusting in up or down, you just bolt the rest on and it lines right up. It looks like it is machined right on the bow. Check them out. http://www.schafferarchery.com
Widowmaker
I put the QAD hunter on my Drenalin and it is awesome. The thing I like about the QAD is that you can have a slow let-down and still stay cocked unlike the ripcord. Only falls when fired.
Guest Finn
The QAD Ultra rest is growing on me. Drop away, but still a full containment rest.

BowtechTurkeyHunter
I have a Vital Bow Gear Kazaway drop away rest. Love it, full containment, I can spin the bow anyway I want and the arrow just sits in the cradle and does not move at all! Great rest, can't go wrong with it. Simple to tune too!! Great to hear lol ... Im going to put one on my new bow and if I have questions I will holler at you lol Steve
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
if there is one bad thing about this site, it would be that everytime i read a post on a rest, sight, broadhead, just about anything that has to do with "i want to buy a new ___" I end up wanting to try out something new to! i think the ripcord will be on my bow this fall...
