Matchthedeerslayer
what is the best kinda treestand for bow hunting???
tedicast
That pretty much depends on what kind of stand you are looking for. For a climber, I use a Summit Broadhead Backpacker. It is definetely notthe lightest stand to carry into the woods, but it is sturdy, and comfortable. I have no problem doing a 12 hour sit in it. For hang-on stands, I prefer Gorilla, King Kongs. They have a good size seat, and a big platform, and are very sturdy. Again, I can sit in one all day. I have a few different brand ladder stands, but my Gorilla Outfitters Lounge is in a class by itself.

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
the kind of stand that i want is a ladder stand with enough room 4 me an mabye 1 more person. i bought an ameristep 2 man stand for $99 at wal-mart last fall....great stand for the money, i can sit in that thing all day by myself or with another person.it has a bar that surrounds it that can be used for a gun rest, or it can be flipped backwards for bowhunting. wtnhunt
Welcome to the forums. Guess it would really depend on what you are looking to spend, and what you consider as best.

Rhino
Depends on what your priorities are in a treestand and what style of stand you prefer. My order of priorities are: 1.) Safe, Secure, and Quiet - reasons here are obvious. 2.) Comfort - the more comfortable I am, the less movement I'll make, and the longer I'm apt to stay in the stand. 3.) Relatively large platform - I feel safer with a larger platform, especially if I have to stand to shoot behind the tree to the left or right. Also if the deer are moving a lot I'll sometimes stand up for hours. 4.) Ability to hide and blend into cover including the option to place it at any height necessary. - The better you blend into cover, the less chance a deer will see you. To meet these priorities hang on stands fit my needs best for bowhunting. I really don't consider price in my priorites for a bow stand. I may consider it when it comes to how many I'll buy but not otherwise. My favorite stand for bowhunting right now is the New Millennium hang on stand. Along with fitting best into my order of priorities for a bow stand it is also pretty easy to hang in a tree, even for an old fart like me. Building one can be dangerous as the stand weathers. Now I am talking about the kind you build in the tree itself! Heard of too many accidents from these type of stands. I use a Summit Goliath X5. Like tedicast said, I too can sit there all day!

Guest realtrhunter
I would go with a lonewolf. I don't use climbers so, I like the fact that they are pretty light and quite. I am going to sell most of my stands off to get one or two of them.

MichiganHunter
what is the best kinda treestand for bow hunting??? Hey, I bought a 16 foot ladder stand at Wally Mart and they had it on sale from 99 down to 69 than another 10% off hunting sale so i bought one for my self and called all of my friends and ended up loading 10 into my dodge dakota for friends, family and a friend of my best friend....most of the ladder stands come up on a pretty even playin field most of the time is just like seat pad not pad, shooting bar no bar , you know that kind of stuff but i would just look for the good deal i shot three deer out of mine and it came from WALLY WORLD
