Shane G
When watching a hunting dvd and after the shot do you prefer, seeing the follow up of retreiving the animal or just a straight cut to the animal?
buckee
I like a little follow-up. Even if the deer goes down within sight it's nice seeing the hunter walk or run up on his prize Nice to see some tracking along with a little discussion too. stevebeilgard
i prefer the follow up also. this is hunting, and is mostly viewed by hunters. no need to pull any punches
JDAWG
I like the follow up as well, I like to see them follow the blood trail, get confused etc....like the rest of us.
wtnhunt
I would prefer to see a REAL follow up that has not been staged. Some of these videos kind of get a bit irritating at times. Maybe it is just me, but something else that seems to be common I cannot stand on several videos or hunting shows is that the shot especially in archery they often edit to show the animal sometimes in slow mo right up to just before the projectile hits the animal and then cut away and they say it was a great shot or whatever. Unless it was really not such a great shot, why not go on and show it all in slow mo through the shot instead of forcing viewers to try to playback and watch? Just something maybe to consider when editing.

I hate a staged hunt where the camera man is standing on the other side of the deer and the hunter is still pretending to look for it and say in a fake excited voice, "Oh Look!!! There it is! OMG I finally found it. And look, it's already cleaned up from blood and it's tongue is inside it's mouth.
Jeramie
i prefer the follow up also. this is hunting, and is mostly viewed by hunters. no need to pull any punches I agree 100%. If you arrow a deer its going to bleed and you have to expect that. Show the tracking, excitment, and recovery. If a little blood is seen in the process, welcome to reality. You can watch prime time TV and see all the blood you want but Lord, dont show a little on a hunting show....
Tominator
I sure would like to see more AUTHENTIC following of a blood trail. I really hate when the camerman is in front of the "tracker" and they both get so surprised when they find the deer.
