Turkeygirl
Ok, want your thoughts on where to set-up. Just got back from the gravel pit and heard the birds fly up around the smaller ridge/step below the big one...same area they've been in all week which is good. Anyway I heard them fly up in that spot on Thurs and Fri. night. When I went out Friday morning and set-up below the big ridge (same one I missed the gobbler on), it sounded like they flew down off the ridge or on a slight diagonal. There is an open logging trail that comes down the small ridge and into a small patch of open hardwoods amongst hemlock. the logging trail splits into two trails through there and eventually the trail leads back up to the gravel pit. I'm guessing maybe they are flying down into there? So should I try setting up below them around those open areas and trails? Or stay up around the gravel pit/bigger ridge? I know that the birds like to hang around in the bottom when it is warm out...and since he got shot at up top, maybe they are staying around the bottom? I could try and set-up on top of that small ridge but I think that is a little too risky.... What do you think?

Turkeygirl
Well I didn't get out...my alaram clock went off and I really was not up to hiking in at that time in them orning...so I slept in. No one else has been up there so turkeys should be alright until I hunt again Tuesday. I'll probably try to roost them again tonight just so I know they are in the same area.
