these guys are outa peoria, illinois, and this is a new sport of bowfishing a buddy and me have been planning on taking up this summer, gonna head down the the peoria area and try to go after the asian carp, recent years these asian carp have started to take over our river systems and have become a nuissance and very dangerous, many people have been hurt by them, during when the waters start to warm, these fish will jump from the vibration the outboard puts out through the water, hopefully we can go thin out a very small portion of the population or at least try, gonna be a pretty tough task, but its gonna be fun

We've been seeing this in the news for the past couple of years. I really don't see why the corps doesn't net these fish and try to reduce the population. I know you are talking millions of fish but surely you could do some damage to them by letting people take as many as you can and using them for fertilizer. Fish makes great fertilizer and it sure would help a lot of farmers. I'd personally like to take a couple barrels full and bait in some yotes. Kill (literally) two nuisances with with one shot.

WOW...that's some fast and furious action.

It almost looks like you could get as many with the bow, as you could just jumping in the boat :D:cool:

That is what I was thinking! LOL! I seen a video of this at Cabela's two years ago, it was funny as heck! But the two from Gettin Close did this as well. If you got that Scent-Loc DVD it was on there!

This all looks real fun, but the bad thing is some people aren't realizing how bad these fish are for the waterways that they are in. We fish in Southern IL on the Ohio River and you can see the Catfish numbers starting to come down due to these fish. These fish multiply like crazy and they eat everything they see. They can sevearly hurt the fish numbers in these areas. I also wonder why the Conservation doesn't get more involved to take care of this problem. I have had a couple end up in my boat last year and now fishing is just getting started we are going this weekend and hoping that it hasn't been impacted too bad.
