JimT
It can effect battery life for sure, but I would say thats about it. I get about three weeks out of a set of batterys in the winter with my Stealth Cam.
maddhunter
Re: deer cam? It also will effect the film. On the box I believe it says not to use below 20 degrees. I had a whole roll ruin, had 22 pics on it and none of them came out. I usually take mine out when it gets down that cold.

I leave one camera out pretty much all winter and have not got a dud roll yet. Lucky I guess. Twenty degrees is a mild night here in Maine sometimes. Interesting. snapper
Re: deer cam? Cold weather shouldn't affect the film at all. I store all my film in the frig. and I have had my camera out in much colder weather than 20 degrees with no problems. Battery life is the only issue I ever faced.
