Swamphunter
My buddy is looking at a PSE Nova and was wondering what everyone in here thought of them. Any opinions, good or bad?? It is for a beginner.
JimT
Re: PSE Nova? For a beginner it would be ok I would think. I would spend a little more money for a better bow, but thats up to him.

Guest bowhunter56
Re: PSE Nova? Yes the rest can be changes, but they are shipped in to us, with the standard lancher type, the left hand screw is hard to get at, and the springs are not reliable, guess that's why they ship an extra one with the box, most folks put a better rest on. Swamphunter
Re: PSE Nova? [ QUOTE ] Sorry Ken but I just hate that term!! Beginner bow... [/ QUOTE ] Dave, I never said it was a beginners bow, not once. I said that it was for a beginner. Had I not put that in the question, guys would have been recommending $800.00 bows for a someone who is not even sure if he will like archery or be able to do it for that matter due to a recent back surgery. He wants to get in as inexpensive as possible and if he enjoys it and is able to, start hunting with it. You know that when you post a question about one item in particular, you get several that are so far off the mark that they are not even close to what you are in the market for. Yes, I did mean an inexpensive bow I guess. Since right now his finances are limited due to a recent disabling injury/surgery and relocation to another part of the state, he is looking for something that comes fully equipped for less than $300.00, which the Nova does. I myself have had lower end bows and still to this day do not shoot a $600-700 bows. My bows are all mid range and have served me very well. Every one of them has been a PSE also. I didn't mean to strike a nerve Dave, I think you may have misunderstood my question.

Guest wisbowhntr
Re: PSE Nova? Well I will be getting a new bow this summer and the way it sounds maybe I should get a Nove too .I now shoot a older Darton bow. It is a Darton 400MX and I have had it for about 13 years now I think . It is not a really fast bow and I am not into the speed thing that a lot of hunters are getting into , but this bow does have lots of hitting power . I did look at a Nova this past summer and it felt great in my hand put I didn't shoot one yet . At the pro shop I looked at one they said they could get a whole set up right about or just under $300.00 . Now that is not bad . So maybe it will just be a Nova for me this summer. Guest wisbowhntr
Re: PSE Nova? Oh, buy the way what is the FPS that the Nova shoots ?? My old Darton shoots about 220 FPS and that is all I can get out of it too . Like I said before not really into speed but just curious what they shoot. Swamphunter
Re: PSE Nova? I'm not sure what the FPS are as he never ended up getting this model. It also depends alot on your individual set-up. I would guess probably on average around low - mid 200's though, although I could be wrong.
