superguide
Ty had a huge brown sow and three yearling cubs hit his bait tonight. He coulsdn't get them to leave at dark so he threw a stick at the cubs. The treed instead of leaving-the old girl kind of charged the stand so it got a little intense for awhile. OJR
Sounds like Mama was just defending the little ones! Those sows can be very narrow minded at times! Good luck the rest of the season!
superguide
ohh I'm sure she was-Ty said she's a huge old sow and the yearlings are all hog fat. He has a shotgun with him so he left his bow there and carried it out just in case. I hope the daddy of those yearlings shows up soon. buckee
I accidentally treed a black-bear sow with 2 cubs last year, and then circled them without knowing they were there. She started these growling noises and smacking her jaws at me. Unnerving for sure. Good to hear she didn't try to climb up to you. I've heard of that happening before. MichiganHunter
hahahaha nice i hunt blacks down here in Michigan and i've had them climb up to my tree stand to see if they could have the sandwich i had in my bag instead of the corn and grease in the bait box
Tom2008
hahahaha nice i hunt blacks down here in Michigan and i've had them climb up to my tree stand to see if they could have the sandwich i had in my bag instead of the corn and grease in the bait box I don't think that is necessarily funny at all. Ty could of gotten extremly injured or killed from that. Glad Ty made it out of there ok. I know a sow with cubs is one of the most dangerous things you can encounter in North America. superguide
She's an agresisve old witch for sure-he had a heck of a time getting out of there tonight. She hangs up just out of bow range but we've got a little strategy change figured out. Ty says those yearlings are just huge-even Dad got a bit nervous hearing her ion the willows but not being able to see her.

buckee
Be careful with that grumpy old sow..eh. I have learned over the years, that the more uneventful and harmless (in the bears eyes) encounters with humans it encounters, the more aggressive with humans it gets. Just a warning bud. Leo
Bear hunting is fun. But it can get a little dicey. Glad to know you're taking precautions. Hopefully a big boar will start hitting the bait soon and momma will be on her way.
