muggs
Not even close, but good try. HUGE difference between Farve deciding to stay with the team he's played with for over 15 years a couple months after the season ends; compared to Clemens pimping himself to the highest bidder....not to mention he won't play until the season is 2 months old. Point taken. I'll agree Clemens' actions are definitely financially motivated. He says he wants to win a World Series, and he does have a good chance of that with the Spanks. But if he truely wanted to win, you'd think he'd sign with the Red Sox...you know, the team that brought him into the league. Adding himself to that pitching staff would've been truly amazing. Favre's actions seemed to be motivated by the love of the game, and you have to respect that. Where I think Favre and Clemens are alike, is how they put themselves ahead of the team (Clemens asking for personal treatment like not traveling with the team etc... and Favre keeping the team in limbo while he decided what he wanted to do). Clemens is way worse, especial like you said Craig, he waits for the season to be 2 months old before he graces us with his presence. I hope the guy falls flat on his face. Guest Finn
Favre learned his lesson from last year and didn't do that crap this season

VABuckSlayer
I love all you Yankee haters! LOL What your not understanding is the Yankees need Roger more than Roger needs the Yankees. He doesn't have to pitch anymore! If he would have signed with your favorite team you wouldn't be wishing he would lose or come up lame. He signed with the "Evil Empire" so now he's going to get bashed. The Yankees are paying him to keep him out of Boston (not to mention helping their staff). You can also thank the Astro's for letting him come and go as he pleases. However... I don't think Roger is going to leave the team as much as you guys a saying. You guys bash him all you want because when the Yankees (and Roger) are playing in the WS this Fall you'll be even more PISSED! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eric IF IF IF IF IF the yankees make the post season I will be mad, if they make it to the WS I will be really mad. But thats a BIG BIG IF. I would hate to think that a 40+ year old guy that only gets to pitch every 5 games is "THE ONE" that is going to take them from not making the ws to playing. Need some other people on the pitching staff to do something other than pitch batting practise....
VABuckSlayer
Let's see... Pettite looked pretty solid last night. Mussina is back and so is Wang. If (and that's a BIG IF! LOL) they stay healthy I think they will be fine and make their push to the playoffs like they always do. They were counted out at the beginning of last season for their slow start and they came back and won the division on the last day. You just CAN"T count them out this early! DSGB
What a shame. Baseball needs a salary cap. That's the only thing that's going to fix this problem. Other players will follow suit if nothing is done.

Finally you had a season to cheer about! Eric
