This is just some of what he (schilling) had to say.... Schilling, in his weekly appearance on sports radio WEEI's "Dennis and Callahan" show, was asked if baseball fans should hold their noses while watching Barry Bonds's pursuit of Hank Aaron's all-time Major League home run record. Oh yeah. I would think so. I mean, he admitted that he used steroids," said Schilling. "I mean, there's no gray area. He admitted to cheating on his wife, cheating on his taxes, and cheating on the game, so I think the reaction around the league, the game, being what it is, in the case of what people think. Hank Aaron not being there. The commissioner [bud Selig] trying to figure out where to be. It's sad. "And I don't care that he's black, or green, or purple, or yellow, or whatever. I betcha he doesn't have to many friends in whatever clubhouse he's in. He was really ripping Clemens too and you can bet if he didn't have to travel with the team on non-start days, he wouldn't. It would not have the same effect if someone had taken steroids and did not break the record. Hank Aaron did it the right way......................We'll all know that bonds did it "BUT". Steroids can't give you the ability to hit the ball, he was born with that gift. BUT with him using roids, his name and record will always be tainted. Funny how he only got that sweet swing in recent years instead of a natural decline like most baseball players in history. Also funny how he has so many joint problems in his knees and shoulders even though he's in "top condition" for athletes half his age. Not many people know that steroids can cause major joint problems for people that take them. It's obvious he's on them and I think that for him to break a record because of it, is a worthless record and one that I'll never personally recognize. Very few people have the talent to to it. But when you take a guy, who has that talent, and then inject him with anabolic steroids a.k.a "performance enhancers" he will be able to hit for more power. Period. -They call them "performance enhancers" because they...(all together now)...enhance your performance. They add speed and strength. In baseball, a guy who is already a great hitter who has added several pounds of pure, ripped muscle mass is no doubt going to be able to generate more bat speed and more power, thus he'll hit more HR's via the roids. -Sure, the 400 foot bombs will now go 440. How many of the 756 he will have hit were affected by roids? That's a question nobody knows the answer to. I am not real happy about him breaking the record. Good for you Curt!! 1. I do not like BONDs at all. 2. Curt DID NOT speak the truth. Thats the problem with his statements. Unfortunaly there has NEVER been any evidence of Bonds using roids. To talk about baseball, that is fine but to attack someones private and personal life was way over the line. To top it all off he said Barry admitted to using steroids, which he has never admitted. I lost a ton of respect for Curt on this one. Like Todd said, Barry has never failed a steroid test. So untill there is ANY evidence of him taking steroids. Todd and I have talked about that before . You guys can play the "he has bulked up so much" card but, it could be done with hard work too. The thing about his achy joints; he is getting older and playing the game for as long as he has is starting to take its toll. I bet a lot of people his age have achy joints. According to Bonds, the trainer told him the substances were the nutritional supplement flaxseed oil and a pain-relieving balm for the player's arthritis. Of course he hasn't failed a test.
