Tecumseh
I'm looking at a Kimber model 8400 Montana 270 Winchester for Deer.Do they make good rifles?
tped
They do make good rifles. I have the Montana in 300wsm and on the surface it loks terrific, feels terrific but I do have problems with feeding cartridges and the bolt closing. Had it back to Kimber - quick response and turnaround but still not what you would expect for a "premium" gun. I was not initially satisfied with the accuracy and they checkedd that and provided a test target using winshester 180 grain silvertips into 3/4". I finally actually achieved that the last time out at the range with same ammo. I am thinking of either sending it back again for the bolt stick situation (bolt binds and will not lock down on live round at times-definitely a hazard and liability if needing a second shot) or maybe just giving up and selling it.
