Any contact wearers?

How many of you all wear contacts? Was it days before you got use to them? I just went down and got me a trial pair, and the jury is still out on them. Eyes seem to get blurry alot. I just got tired of my glasses fogging up and stuff all the time, but Imay go back to them. I'll give them a fair amount of time first.

I do have contacts, but i use my glasses for hunting, because if a bug gets in my eye or some dirt, it will blur my eye so that i can't see. Also at dawn and dusk, they seem to get really blurry.

And yes, they take some getting used to, but pretty soon, you will get to where you will forget that they are in.

I got them about a month ago went the first week and really struggled with them, went back to the eye Dr. and she tried a different brand and it made a world of difference. I am still getting used to them but for the most part everything is going good. Good luck with them and if you are struggling with them you might try a different brand.

I used to wear the soft lense contacts. Got used to them in no time.

Only problem I had was the darn things would dry out way to easy in cool to cold, dry air, especially if it was windy. That got to be a pain while deer hunting but better than fogging glasses or dealing with wet glasses in any kind of rain. I opted for the next step in vision correction after some 20 years or so of dealing with contacts.

About 7 or 8 years ago I decided to have LASIK eye surgery and since then my vision has been great except for reading anythng inside 4 to 5 feet. I had to use reading glasses anyway with my contacts so there was no real adjustment to get used to for reading.

I checked in to Lasik surgery but it was not an option for me. I lost about 95 percent vision to my right eye 20+ years ago to an accident. Everyone that I have talked to said that if by chance something went wrong with my left eye I would be blind. I have fought with glasses for many years (sweat, fogging, etc) so I decided to try contacts, but as of day one, I'am struggling.

I took me a good two weeks to get used to contacts when I first started wearing them. I went through several different brands until I found a brand that fit my eye shape the best and most comfortable. Now I can put them in and within an hour forget they are in my eyes. Use them for hunting and fishing and they work great for me. Never had problems with them drying out nor with blurring after the initial breaking in period when I first started wearing contacts. Only time I've dried my eyes out is when I stare at something and don't blink, so I just have to remember when staring around in the woods while hunting to just blink more often. Other than that they work perfectly never had a contact to this day fall out of my eyes nor give me any real hassles.

My wife wears contacts and loves them...

I have sat there and watched her put them in a time or two. I wear glasses, my wife has been trying to talk me into getting contacts but there is just no way I could put one of them in. Heck I have one heck of a time putting drops in my eyes.

Hope they work out for ya Trey...

Good Luck...

Dale, I'am having my doubts I will end up wearing them for long. It is taking me about 15 mins to put them in and take them out. I can shower, get my clothes on and be ready to in less time than that.

On top of everthing else, when I was there yesterday they changed the frames on my glasses because I had trouble with a lens coming out. When I got home last night and finally got my contacts out went to put my glasses on to watch some TV and they put the lenses on the wrong side:mad:

It will take a little while for you to get used to them, but after you do, I think you'll find they're nice and not all that much trouble.

As was suggested, try a few different brands because they all fit differently. They shouldn't slip and move around on your eye if they fit properly. In otherwords, if you look up to the ceiling, the lens shouldn't slip down.

after 41 years of great eyesight I finally realized I needed glasses when I had trouble taking out very small fine sutures. Had my eyes checked and got both contacts and glasses. I wore the contacts for over a month but just couldn't get used to them. I wear glasses now only at work or reading--when hunting and goofing off I don't wear any corrective lenses.

I've had contacts for about 16 years, AND LOVE THEM. No glasses getting fogged over, periphial vision is awesome. Wouldn't know what to do without them. You'll get used to putting them in and taking them out. Don't give up, the benefits of wearing them far outweigh the frustration of getting used to them, trust me. Good luck!!

I started wearing contact about 10 years ago and would never go back to my glasses. I remember the first time I tired to put them in after I got home from the eye Dr's. It took me a good 20 minutes to get them in. I thought I would never get used to it. I did not take long for it to become second nature. I do have the occasional morning when they sting a little at first but that is usually just because there is fuz or something on the lens. They do tend to dry out after an extended day (16-18 hours) or when it is extremely windy but I think that is normal.

Don't give up on them that quick I think once you get used to them you will find you get better vision than you did with your glasses.

I've been wearing contacts for 9 years or so. Like some others said, you may have to try different brands to find one that is comfortable for you.

Same here OKIE... 8 years with the contacts. I wear CibaVision Optix O2, and they are very comfy lenses. I can put them in in 30 seconds total, feel comfy in them in about 2 minutes, and then forget about them all day before I take them out. If I am staring (as MOON mentioned) like at a dry fly drifting downstream or a whitetail buck through the binos, they sometimes will dry/blur on me a little but I really have to stare for a while. I never blink them out or anything so they are great for me. In that 8 years I've tried about 6 different brands till I found ones I like 100%.
