bwlacy
Who makes the best electric deer feeders? I have a Kenco straight shooter and have been pretty happy with it. We are going to purchase a couple more feeders and was curious about the brands on the market. Matt
dogdoc
Re: Electric Feeders I have 2 of the kenco myself and really like their feeders. I have had one now for 4 years with no problems. todd
texastrophies
Re: Electric Feeders I have had an All-Seasons unit for 5 years now with no problems and I also have a Spin-Cast with 4 years on it, no problems. My father has a Spin-Cast that has been running for close to 10 year now, with the only problem being the motor had to be replace last year. the old adage you get what you pay for fits very well on this subject. There are some cheaper models out there, but they just don't last as long. www.spincastfeeders.com is the link for spin cast. I have never even had to look for one for all-seasons. Good luck here is the one for all-seasons http://www.allseasonsfeeders.com/
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Electric Feeders The All Season and Spincast both work good, but I really like the On Time Elite. It has the funnel built into the feeder motor and it bolts right onto the outside of the barrel. It uses 10 AA batteries and will run about a year (depending on feed durations) on a set. I've got a local source for them and can pick them up for $89.95. They're about $120 from Cabelas or Bass Pro.
bwlacy
Re: Electric Feeders Hey thanks for the info everybody. Has anyone used a solar charger for their feeders? The only problem we've had is when it gets really cold the batteries die fast. Matt
texastrophies
Re: Electric Feeders The solar panels are all I use, on both 6 volt & 12 volt batteries. Saves you a lot of trouble, as long as you have access to sunlight (not under a tree or something)
