Swamphunter
What in your opinion is the most sturdy, quiet and comfy chain on stand. I am in the market for a new one for next season.

tedicast
Re: Most comfortable chain on... I don't have a lot to compare it to, but The Gorilla, King Kong is a very comfortable, very sturdy stand. I have only been in a few hang ons, but this is by far the best I have been in. I am not real thrilled about heights, but have no problem standing, and moving around on the king kong, 22 feet up. I also like the oversized seat, and platform of the king kong. The Gorilla Kong stand has a smaller seat, and platform, but seens to flex a bit less. I prefer the bigger platform myself.
billygoat
Re: Most comfortable chain on... I, too, boutht the Gorilla King Kong, this year and absolutely love it.... very large platform and very comfortable "air system" seat... also it is an extremely quiet stand... not to mention the price was right.... If you want to spend a little more, consider looking for an API, their T spike system is one of the "easiest" stands to hang... Does Lone Wolf mafe a fixed position stand... they have a high standard and I couldn't imagine that it wouldn't be a high quality stand. snapper
Re: Most comfortable chain on... The two I mainly hunt from are Gorilla King Kong and an API Baby Grand. All things compared, I like the API just a little better...however, since they are both comfy, large platforms and strong stands, the Gorilla is a little cheaper. If I were buying another hang on stand, it would prob. be a Gorilla because of the price.

Gator
Re: Most comfortable chain on... Swampy, I have a Gorilla chain on, very comfy, but a bear to put up IMO. I am thinking of selling it in favor of a ladder stand, I used it about 4 times this year, although it has been up most of the season. I have the back cushion, but one strap has gotten torn off, interested?
Strut10
Re: Most comfortable chain on... I use and love the River's Edge Bigfoot. VERY nice stand for the money (around $70). I own 6 of them. Only thing is............it doesn't exactly qualify as a "chain-on" because it uses a seatbelt type strap........not a chain. IMO, chains stink. Too noisy. ScottyLuck
Re: Most comfortable chain on... The Gorillas with the straps are very easy to hang. I had 3 Kongs and 3 King Kongs. I like the King Kongs better because there's more room, seat and platform. Watch Cabela's and Bass Pro this time of year. They usually start to have sales on these stands. GWSmith
Re: Most comfortable chain on... Ken, I was sure I responded to this post before but I'll try again. I have owned 6 stands: 1 Climber, 2 ladder stands, 4 loc-on stands. The most comfortable stand that I have ever had is one of the ladder stands but because of what I did to it after I bought it used. I added a 4x4 piece of pressure treated plywood to the top and added braces to the sides. The reason that I told you about that stand is I believe that what made that stand the most comfortable is there was enough foot room to move around on. I had enough room to put a regular size chair on that platform...way comfortable and made for longer time in the stand before moving or getting down. I, like some others here, have found that in the Gorilla King-Kong Lock-On Type Stands. I had 2 of them I bought from Cabelas and they worked great. So great in fact that one of them was admired to the extent that another person in the woods decided to give it a new home(happy to hear that they also had enough compassion not to break up the family and they took the climbing sticks that went with it My money would buy another Gorilla King-Kong Stand. Now if there was little chance of my loc-on type stand getting stolen I would own a couple of these stands which I believe to be the best made and the absolute largest platform and weight capacity on the market today! The Crows Nest Treestands --- Big Crow --- 450 lb capacity
NYBUCK
Re: Most comfortable chain on... Ken, I always wanted one of these so last year I bought one. What a comfy stand. The only problem it doesnt have alot of room to move around on the platform. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.S...nkEnabled=false It is also a little tricky to set up and probably would be a better gun stand than bow. But it is nice.
Swamphunter
Re: Most comfortable chain on... Does look pretty comfy. It definitely looks like that was the intention of the manufacturer as the platform does look small and appears to be tough for archery season anyways. NYBUCK
Re: Most comfortable chain on... Ken I also have a API baby grand. It is big and even though the sqirrels ate the seat it is still one of my best all day sitting stands. I do put a rug on the "floor" to make sure my boots don't make any noise. Rhino
Re: Most comfortable chain on... Just my opinion but this one is the most comfortable one I've ever used. As you can see it has a full seat with a back too. Unfortunately it's probably one of the most expensive chain on stands on the market too. They cost about $200 each. I have 3 of them. mathews4life
Re: Most comfortable chain on... I have to Gorilla King Kongs and absolutely love 'em. Cant beat the price either. Only problem is they are a pain to put up. Almost a 2 person job
