Only thing I see that was not figured anywhere in that article is that some plants establishments costs are not going to be a good way to figure what is generally cost effective in the long run. I mean for perennials, once established some clovers will last 3-5 years, trefoils up to 10 years with just proper mowing and fertilization. No question for annuals, this is great information.
