Muggs,

I buy alot of clubs off ebay and have never had a problem. Last year, bought a near new set of Mizuno MX-23 irons for $400, to include shipping. They retailed new for $699.

Just check the feedbacks and make sure they show the face and soles of the clubs.

What are you looking at?

Are you looking for new or used, Eric??

If you wouldn't mind used clubs, I recommend Callaway Pre-Owned. I bought my set of X-14's from there. They had them listed in Average condition and when I got them, they looked brand new. I imagine they resurface them and clean them up before they send them out, but I was very impressed. In fact, just ordered a 55 degree Sand Wedge from the same set this morning. Cost me 50 bucks shipped.

Craig, I'm looking at new irons. I just bought a new driver, I like my 3 and 5 woods, and I'm happy with my putter. They're really all I need, but obviously, it's a major component.

Kev, where can you find Callaway pre-owned? I'd be up for that.

I used this site last year to try my clubs out: www.golfclubdemo.com

Cost me $29 to have them 2 day Fed Ex'd to me and picked up, and I got to try them out for a week. I played 5 rounds with them.

I had narrowed my choice down to probably getting the Mizunos and felt the $29 was worth making sure I would like the irons before I bought them.

Wow. Thanks a pretty cool idea. I'd hate to just buy clubs online without even feeling them. I checked Callaway's pre-owned site out. They have good deals on the X-14's and X-18's. I was thinking about looking at them at a Pro Shop and going from there.

Chris, you should read your own words. I'm running down Favre, not Craig. Craig's a good man, a good man with a devote passion for Favre.:D :D ---> X 10

Again, if we can't talk smack about sports, what can we talk smack about? And you all know how lame the left-turn circuit room is when I'm not in here rufflin' feathers.

What's up Paul? I do most of my golfing at the swamp that is Lost Nation GC. I live about 2 minutes from the course so the convenience allows me to look past the poor conditions. When I want to spend a little money and play a nice course I usually go to Manikiki. Other than that, I've played Black Brook a few times and I golf on the west side a lot with my buds out that-a-way, and courses in Medina county with my Dad. Some really nice ones out that way, Iron Wood and Hinkley Hills are two of my favorites.

I was in that Play-it-Again this winter and they had some good deals on Pings and Tommy Armour's. They must have sold them because they selection wasn't all that great last time I was in there.

I hear Chardon Lakes is nice. I played a course out that way a few years ago, but can't remember the name.

I just bought 3 drivers off Ebay not too long ago, two from the same person and one separate. I bought a VERY lightly used, Callaway X460 9 degree for $139 US and that sucker looked brand new when it got here. I almost bought a Demo for $299+tx CDN for the same driver but thought i'd check Ebay first, sure glad I did! Also bought a Titelist 975J and a Ping Tisi for about $30 US each, both in very good condition. Took less than a week for them to get here, the Callaway and Titelist were from North Carolina and the Ping was from Washington state.

Research the clubs you want, hit them at the pro shop and on the range, then head to eBay. I did that with my irons and driver with no problems. Saved enough cash to by a new bag and putter. Make sure you are bidding to a reputable seller with good feedback. Once you get going, we'll meet in the middle somewhere and tee 'em up. You do know that golf is a drinking mans sport, right? :D:p

Update on Callaway Pre-Owned: After reading your post, I went to the website and decided I needed a X-14 Sand Wedge to go with my set. Ordered it around 11. Just got a confirmation. $9.95 shipping and the package is supposed to be here today!!

Sure, their shop is in Austin, TX, but next day delivery for under 10 bucks is awesome!:D:D
