Plot Progress, week 3.

Sunday will mark 3 weeks since we planted and here is what the shot plot is looking like.

Kinda spotty, I think i maybe underseeded, usually i like to overseed a little bit. The bag said it plants 1/2 acre and this plot is 10 yards wide by 60 yards long

Should have been plenty of seed if it was supposed to be enough for half an acre. According to your plot size figures your plot is 5400 sq feet, about an 1/8th of an acre.

What did you use to spread your seed? Your coverage looks like its not real uniform, and what method did you use to cover your seeds?

Was wondering about that too. Possible if you dragged it off or rolled it and the seedbed was not firm enough, the seed may have went too deep. Like Martin, also though it looked like your coverage was considerably heavier in some places than others, "not uniform".

We usually use a push type broadcast spreader with fine seeds like brassicas and clovers here.

To spread it I used a hand broadcaster, which is the only thing we have, probably not the best thing to use. Then after that I hooked our lawn roller up to my 4 wheeler and rolled it.
