hoosierhunter
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/05/25/monster.pig.ap/index.html I ran across this just now on CNN. Not bad for a 11 year old. I imagine they are gonna be sick of sausage after they finish him off...

rad_112176
That thing does look huge.....But.... Why does it appear that the boy is sitting so far away from the hog in the picture? We all know that if you sit back from your game a little bit it makes the animal look larger. Was this thing ever taken to a conservation office to be official. I hope we are not in for another hogzilla.

I understand you doubt, how often does a story crop up like this and turn out to be a Hoax or is never proven nor disproven. This was the real deal. I heard and interview with the taxidermist yesterday (on NPR). Twas the real deal. The shoulder mount will travel with the whitetail expo this year. hoosierhunter
Well we all figured it was too good to be true and we were right. That was a farm raised pig that they let go for the kid to shoot. I saw it last night on PTI. Unreal, how on earth do you think that wouldn't get out. Some people...... Some people...... it was sold to an outfitter who let it loose on his 2,500 acre farm, this was posted in the lounge a week or 2 ago. http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58364
rad_112176
Can I say told you so. LOL. Just Kidding. I hate to see when this happens. It gives all of us " Hunters " a bad name to the people that read this in the news. You always can tell a true story cause it usually has the conservation involved early in the story when you are dealing with a record breaking animal. I think this plantation should have it's licence revoked for a conspiracy like this. If it is true that the father and his kid didn't know it was a tame animal then that is just wrong on the outfitters part. No different then setting deer loose and telling someone that they are hunting free roaming whitetail. Well, as much as i hate to say it we all knew something wasn't right with the story.
