wtnhunt
Yesterday, we stopped by the bow shop, I wanted to find a new target and see about a getting new string for my bow here pretty soon. They did not have their targets in yet. The guy who does the work on bows there when I asked about winners choice said there is a custom stringmaker in Illinois that he uses, claimed they were as good or better than winners choice, and a bit cheaper too. He can get me the winners choice string for a little less than what cabelas sells them for, but he suggested this custom. Seems like he said the name was MR bowstrings though and he said they had a website to look them up on google and I am not able to find anything on them. Anyone ever heard of this string maker, really think I am just going to go with the winners choice, what do some of you think?
tedicast
I have used Winners Choice strings, and they are great strings. I also think they are a bit overpriced personally. The past 2 years, I have been using Vapor Trail Strings and Cables. They are less the WC's, and give up absolutely nothing in the quality department. wtnhunt
Ended up finding the site the bow technician at the shop was talking about for M and R bowstrings. But still know nothing about them. Anyone here ever heard anything about these http://www.mrbowstring.com/index.htm
BowtechTurkeyHunter
I love my Winners Choice string ... well known ... I do think you pay for a name ... you can probably find the same string a little cheaper ... but will that guy be there next year? ... and the year after ... AT there is a guy that makes em "better" and "cheaper" then winners choice .. I think its Buck nasty ... anyhow the point is they all copy WC and all are cheaper and better ... get the point lol Steve
LifeNRA
I have used Winners Choice strings, and they are great strings. I also think they are a bit overpriced personally. The past 2 years, I have been using Vapor Trail Strings and Cables. They are less the WC's, and give up absolutely nothing in the quality department. I got a custom string and cable made from a guy here in PA. Paid $43 for the set, so far I like them very much. Ill keep using his strings unless he goes out of business, then Ill find something else! LOL! Either Vapor or whoever! AdvantageTimberLou
Bucknasty is the man when it comes to strings, almost have of what Winner's Choice is and the quality is equal. He makes an awesome string. Can do about any color you want or he can suggest what to do. You may wait for them but its well worth it, very nice strings and I am set for life as long as he continues to make them!!
Guest Finn
I will probably go with Bucknasty or Vapor Trails when I buy a new string and cables. Have heard nothing but good things about both.
wtnhunt
Thanks for all the suggestions, think I will go with the custom MR strings and see how they work out for me. The guy at the shop highly recommended them and said that is what he shoots on his own bow.
