Jeramie
One of the places that is hiring right now would give me a $3 an hour increase (if they decide to hire me), a lot better benefits, and an awesome retirement. I would also get all the OT I want so it was enough for me to send in the Resume. Hopefully Ill hear back from them today. Ill let you know how it goes! Newarcher
Jeramie, Good luck buddy, that sounds like it would solve your OT dilemma and give you what you need. I would try to head off any problems by asking to speak directly with someone in the department you would be working with...interview the interviewer so to speak. That way you can ask pointed questions about the bosses, etc. They may lie or sugar coat it but you can generally tell by body language and their first reactions to the questions what the truth is. Great luck but just remember there is no perfection in work unless you work for yourself and even then I understand the boss is often a jerk! Let us know, New

Jeramie
Crazy! I got a phone call earlier (around 11:00). I was out and came back to a message on my cell phone. Turns out a local Pre-engineered building company is looking for a new lead guy over the drafting department. I didn't even call them. An engineer I use to work with (I designed stuff for him as a favor and he would stamp it. I also use to design cell phone towers with him.) told the company to call me. I have over 11-years of Pre-engineered metal building experience (and construction). The call was actually from the engineer but the owner of the multi-million dollar company is suppose to call me later! Honestly I dont know if its enough to step away from the mechanical field, there is a ton of money to be made and tons of job security in the refinery business but when an engineer you haven't talked to in a year says "You're the only guy that can do the job," It feels great! Ill let you know how that taps out.....
