Guest Andrea
Just discovered these little guys. Never had chickpeas (garbanzo beans) before. WOW. Good stuff. Here's a little hourderve you can make with them: Ingredients 1 tablespoon margarine or butter 1 can (15 to 19 ounces) garbanzo beans (chickpeas) 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne) Salt Cocktail picks Directions 1. In nonstick 10-inch skillet, heat margarine over medium-high heat until melted and browned, about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, drain and rinse beans. Transfer beans to paper towels; pat completely dry 2. Add beans, Italian seasoning, ground red pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon salt to skillet; cook about 7 minutes or until beans brown slightly, shaking pan occasionally. 3. Transfer beans to shallow bowl. Serve with cocktail picks.
wtnhunt
Used to eat garbanzos on salads occasionally. Used to see them at salad bars at a few different restaurants. Have not had them in a long time, your recipe there sounds interesting.
OJR
They raise thousands of acres of those things in this area! I like them in a salad! They sure beat lentils! I hate those things!
Bachflock
I love garbanzo's but never had them that way. Looks like a tasty recipe. My favorite is plain old hummus.
oldksnarc
Love garbanzos. Tried them tonight. Mighty tasty. Think I'd like them better this way cooled and on a salad. Think I'll try that now.
