If you can afford spending the money on a hoyt of mathews bow go for it. Both company's make exceptional bows! Although there are a bunch of other companies with cheaper bows that can shoot just as well if not better. An example of these companies are like Martin, Diamond, Pearson, Parker, and there are tons more. In the end it really depends on what feels the best to you. Shoot several different bows first before choosing. Whatever is most comfortable for you is all that matters. Don't base your purchase a brand name because it may not be worth it in the end. Good luck with your search and I'm sure you will pick the best set-up for you.

Shoot as many different makes and models that you can. I like Mathews the best.

If you don't have the money to spend on the top end Mathews, BowTech or Hoyt, check out their less expensive lines. Mathews now makes Mission bows, BowTech makes Diamond and Hoyt makes Reflex.

Every bow shoots a little differently ... you are ultimately the one to decide which bow is right for you and the only way to do that is to shoot them ... nobody on here can even give you a recomendation as to which bow is best for you ... they can tell you which they prefer for themselves ... but if you buy a bow for that reason you are buying a bow for the wrong reason and probably wont be happy with what you picked .. make sure it shoots good for you ... you will know when its the right one ... just curious how you got it narrowed down to just the 2 brands? How many have you shot to illiminate the other brands of great bows out there?

Others have given good advice,as long as you shoot a variety of bows and get what fits you. Do not fall into the more expensive is better trap. One brand that I have not seen suggested is Ross,if you shoot one you will probably by one. They are very smooth, forgiving and easy to shoot. Also if you ever have to deal with the company the people at Ross are great. Yes I shoot a Ross and I love it. Before my Ross I have ownwed three Mathews and for the last eight years i have been a hardcore Hoyt man. Once I shot this Ross I knew it was the bow for me. Hopefully you will find a bow that when you shoot it the first tim you will just know.

Good Luck

Set your budget....shoot every bow within that budget. Pick the bow that feels best to YOU.

Doesn't matter what bow anyone else likes. Buy the one YOU like.

There are lots of great bows out there!

I'm not big on PSE, but a buddy of mine bought a PSE Mach x and that is the sweetest shooting bow I have ever shot. It is fast, quiet and very smooth. I would do like everyone else suggested, go to your local bow shop and try out a bunch.

i personally love hoyts, but that's just me, so if i was to buy a new bow it would be either a hoyt or reflex depending on my budget..... but like everyone else said not one bow is right for everybody, that's why there is many diff. types. so try as many as you can and in the end you will know which one is right, good luck and have fun with whatever you decide on!!

I'm about to start looking for a new one too. Prolly gonna go with a top of the line Hoyt or Bowtech. I want to shoot both and see what I like. I've shot a martin for 4 years (which i plan to sell, if anyone is interested pm me) and really liked it, but i want something different.
