wtnhunt
Have planted a mix of either lablab plus or cowpeas/beans and sorghum here the past few years and this spot has done fairly well. Trying some rr soybeans here this year from eagle seeds. The soil had a little moisture still in it from the last rain, so this plot should take off. Rain chances are forecast for 6 of the next 10 days according the the weather channel.com with a 40 percent chance today, so I went on and planted. To the left in this first pic is a narrowly wooded fencerow. There is an old homemade ground blind on the fence row just past the bushy stuff there on the left in this pic. The trail going up the hill here stays fairly worn and leads up to a crossing at the fence where it is a little low. To the right of that about 15 yards had a hang on stand last year. Looking back up the hill from across the opening in the bottom, The river is to the right. Where the woods start, the terrain goes to steep hills along the river. wtnhunt
We got quite a bit of rain yesterday Chris, we needed it bad. Looks like we had close to 100 percent germination rate at 5 days after planting when I looked this morning. Will post some progress pics soon. wtnhunt
how's the daughter's plot doing? Well Todd, it is going, but we have gotten some grass and weeds in it unfortunately. Dont think it will be a contest winning plot for her, but guess we will see. I will get some pics posted of both soon.
