Tominator
Here's a couple pics of the food plot I planted the other day. The corn is already starting to come up, but the beans and sunflower haven't. It hasn't been a week yet, so I'm not too worried.

wtnhunt
Came up pretty quick. Looks good Chris. Did you broadcast?
Tominator
Came up pretty quick. Looks good Chris. Did you broadcast? Nope. Earthway, all the way, lol. If you're referring to the green sprouts you're seeing, that's yellow nutsedge--very difficult to get rid of.

Yep, kind of looked a little patchy. Tried the earthway for my soybeans for about two rows, and gave up on that idea. Ground was just a bit damp, and it did not work well at all, ended up broadcasting. Will be interesting to see if my sprayer will be able to spray far enough to hit the middle. QDMAworks4me
Looks good!! Our corn plots are about 3 inches tall now.
Tominator
Corn is popping up in rows, and the beans have germinated too. After getting the bejeebers scared out of me by William and Martin, I think this plot just might make it. We need rain though.
wtnhunt
Those were both rr seed correct Chris? Just curious as to whether or not the sunflowers are coming up yet? Checked Christina's plot Wednesday afternoon, and saw a lot of green sprouts. Will get some pics this weekend.

Checked Christina's plot Wednesday afternoon, and saw a lot of green sprouts. Will get some pics this weekend. I know the beans are RR, I'm not sure about the corn. I talked to the student who gave them to me and he said he was pretty sure they were not RR. Either way, everything--sunflower included, is germinating and coming up nicely. We need rain though. Tominator
Took this pic the other day. Since the original pic was taken, we've had, maybe, maybe....an inch of rain. Deer are hitting the beans and sunflower (far end of the pic) already. We need rain. 80% chance today. My money's on the 20%.
wtnhunt
Considering the lack of moisture, looks like it is doing ok Chris. They are calling the drought here in this area the worst in history. My soybeans are being hammered here, will have to plant a bigger area of them next year.

Luckily this area of my field retains moisture pretty good. It's one time where the heavy clay is a benefit. There's one particular little doe that beds down in the woodlot across the road, and comes into my field nearly every night. Saw her last night, Tom saw her the other day too. ousoonerfan22
You guys are going through what we went through last year I wish you could get the rain we've seen the last few weeks.Last friday night it rained 6-8 inches and saturday morning the creek was out of it's banks completely covering my plot, luckily the clover was about a foot tall and very thick so it didn't wash away. Tominator
Got 1.25" of rain last night and a little more this morning, so I think it will be OK for now.
