muggs
I regonize that an NBA posts gets about as much attention around here as Rosie O'Donnell gives the all-male review at "Cabana Boys" lounge...but since my Cavs are in it, thought I'd stir up a little convo about the finals. What are your thoughts/ predictions? The Spurs are a dynasty, so I'm not really liking the Cavs chances, but I'm also not going to say the Spurs will win this thing (out of principal, if nothing else). So, carried by LeBron and a very underrated defense, I'll say Cavs in 6. They'll split the first two in San Antonio, Cavs win the next two at home, loss again away, then come home to clinch the trophy.
buckbuster11
Well, I dont know why but I am going with Cleveland. San Antonio is much better on paper but I've got a feeling Cleveland might pull it off. I'll go Cleveland in 6 also. They are hungrier and they have the only player in the series that can take over a game and win it by himself.
rhine16
I'll say Cleveland in 7.
Guest Finn
San Antonio in 5...I think
unioncountyslayer
Although I don't think this is Lebron's last trip to the Finals, I like the Spurs in 4 games, a clean sweep. I did like what Lebron said when asked about the comparison to Michael. He said start comparing me when I've won 6 Championships. Very mature and humble for a 22 year old NBAer. toddyboman
I would like to see the Cavs win it.
Steven
I don't follow basketball at all, so I'm basing this on the cities. San Antonio is one of the coolest cities in the country and Cleveland is, well, Cleveland. So San Antonio in 5. Plus, I like Tim Duncan based on everything I've heard about him. SuperMn106
San Antonio has a very good defense. Their guard duo is hard to beat also. Cleveland has the best player overall on the court. Lebron can take the game over at anytime and I see him doing it. Even though Bruce Bowen is a great defender I do not see him slowing Lebron down. San Antonio takes game 1, Cleveland takes game 2, game 3 and game 4. San Antonio takes game 5 and Cleveland wins it in 6. Lebron will average somewhere around 27 pts, 8 assists and 8 rebs for the series and will be the MVP.
doubleA
I'll take the Spurs in 4,5,6 or 7.... it doesnt matter. To me it's like the old addage...."why bring a knife to a gunfight" The Spurs simply have the firepower and defense and dont rely on one person to pull them through. But you know they have to play the game to find out. GO Spurs GO!
dogdoc
i'd also like to see cleveland win but if the next 6 games are as boring as the first one I won't be watching much
Matchthedeerslayer
i say the cavs cuz the spurs are over rated and Duncan can go to his mom cryin when he gets his a** handed to him on a silver platter.

AdvantageTimberLou
Hey Lebron, get out Lebroom!! Spurs are having their way even as bad as game 3 was they still pulled it off. This is the Cavs here but not to win the championship. Not over yet but the Fat Lady is indeed warming up!!

muggs
The Spurs are tried and true. It would help to have our second best player in the lineup instead of in a suit, but that would only do so much. Chalk this one up as a great learning experience for a young team. Boobie Gibson 20 years old, LeBron 22, Sasha 24, Varejo 24 and Shannon Brown 21. Those are five nice players to build around. They'll be back next year, especially in the revolving door that is the Eastern Conference.
VABuckSlayer
I saw on ESPN that they've played 3 games already and the Spurs won all 3. Must be a pretty exciting series! LOL

dfol20
The cavs don't have a chance, but I like to at least see them put up a fight. The spurs are too sound of a team to lose right now. I love watching them play.
dogdoc
what a flop. ABC took a hit on those finals.
muggs
Todd, defense is what wins in the NBA, and those two teams do it better than most. Doesn't make for exciting basketball, but gone are the 80's when Magic and Bird were playing fast break BB. This is the future, albeit a boring future. doubleA
what a mismatch................... With the Spurs being such a well rounded , they are simply the best playing team there is right now. With such a desparity betwwen the Spurs and Cavs, how would anyone think it was going to be exciting. Everyone and their mother had San Antonio to wim it. When the the Pistons and Cavs played in the NBA Least conference finals the games were better to watch on account they were evenly matched and I think you could say the same with the Western finals. As great a player as LeBron is and will be, it still takes a team effort to win Championships and the San Antonio Spurs have again shown that to the world. They may be boring to alot of you but as a Texican they still get it done without very much hype and razzle dazzle. Go ahead and show Lebron dunking the ball over and over and over on the NBA commercials. even throw Garnet, and Colby in there lol The Spurs are the 2007 NBA Champions
