Here is the story from the Detroit Free Press, prayers go out to the familes of these heros and prayers to the person who needed these organs, that person is still in critical care.

There was a David on that plane, a David Ashburn! :( I sure hope its not our David! :(

if you go to this link (Detroit News) they have a gallery of the victims, its a link you have to click on, that David Ashburn looks like the same David on Team #15 of the turkey hunt in that picture....I hope I am wrong! :(

OMG. How horrible. How completely and utterly horrible.

He had a wife and kids. Small children I believe. This is unbelievable.

Prayers for his family.

Wow, That is horrible!!! What a crappy week. I get to work Monday and find out my steel truck driver (48 years old) had a brain aneurism and died at his daughters graduation. Now this. It just goes to show ya, you never know when its going to happen....just be thankful for every day you have.:(

After figuring this out late last night that we lost David I probably had one of the worst night sleeps in a long time. He was a true asset to have on here. To think, we were talking with a Doctor who was as average as you and me on here but had the skills to make people better. Not only did we lose a great member but the world lost a great surgeon and to think of all the people he could have saved through out his life and educate through his skills brings tears to your eyes.

I know its early but I would like to suggest for now on, our Turkey Contests held on here be called, The Dr. David "Exturkinator" Ashburn Memorial Turkey Contest as he was a very willing participate who's passion was turkey hunting. It would be a fitting tribute to our friend.

I will miss him on here, to have tears in your eyes for a guy who I had never met just goes to show you the family we have here at Team Realtree. I always liked the pictures he would post on here and we had to figure out who it was, man did he come up with some great ones! He was truly special and we should cherish the time he had with us on here. For as busy as his world had to be he still came in and participated.

Not sure what it would take but if Scott could do a write up on Exturkinator on the front page and the true hero that would be great. I know there are some pictures in the picture section on here of him and there may be some information on the internet about him being a doctor and what he specialized in. This is a sad tradegy that the world heard about but when it takes a life of a Team Realtree member it really hits home and makes us realize how precious time is.

Think of his wife, daughters, and infant son in your prayers and keep Exturkinator in your thoughts and most of all in your hunts!

My prayers and condolences go out to his wife and family. What a great loss for them and the medical community. icon_smile_praying.gificon_smile_praying.gificon_smile_praying.gif

Surgeons are extremely special individuals.

What a sad day. :(
