wtnhunt
Been seeing this story on the news and had no idea. Really at a loss for words. QDMAworks4me
A hero in my eyes, to give up your own life to try and help someone else out. Truly a sad thing, I wish the best for his family.
Jeramie
I didn't expect to see this at all this morning. I couldn't help but wonder what happened but never expected this. Buddy, I happy you're in heaven and with our Blessed Lord, but you will be greatly missed. Prayers Definitely going out to his family. Jeramie
I know I just posted on this but its eating down to the pit of my gut. Man what a loss. He was as genuine as a guy as he could be. I can only imagine this family is the same way. God bless his family with understanding and be a foundation to their steps. It was hard to lose someone like Blueelk (Rich) but having such a young promising guy ripped from this world..... God bless you David and Family. Im sure you're shouting on the hills of glory but your family must be in major turmoil. Folks, they can use all the prayers you can send. Gator
I am sittingn here reading this about to bawl, both because I had to be the one to think of this, and another about my current situation, which is NOTHING compared to the loss of evidently a great man. Davbid, you will be missed.

wtnhunt
but your family must be in major turmoil What is really hitting me about this. I feel so badly for his kids and his wife. Think Lou's suggestions are fitting as well. The idea of a memorial turkey hunt in David's name and a write up on the homepage so long as Mrs. Ashburn is OK with it seems fitting to me. AdvantageTimberLou
Think Lou's suggestions are fitting as well. The idea of a memorial turkey hunt in David's name and a write up on the homepage so long as Mrs. Ashburn is OK with it seems fitting to me. We all knew how he liked to chase those turkeys and I am not sure even if Bill Jordan himself even knew one of those doctors on that plane actually was a forum member of his Team Realtree and if he knew that, I am sure he would want to honor David and send his condolences. Maybe Scott can contact Mrs. Ashburn sometime, not too soon as the healing will take time and the heartache for her and those 2 daughters of his and infant son has to be very bad right now. Tearing up now just thinking about it! You will never be forgotten Exturkinator, when I chase gobblers next spring and every season after that, you will be with me in spirit!!! bowin_in_illinois
...We have lost one of our own. AN IRISH BLESSING May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand. RangerClay
I too am speachless. In the past few months I met David because he was on my turkey team. In that short time we shared PM's and became friends. It hurts me to the core that we will never meet in this life. Via Con Dios my friend. Tominator
So very sad. Utterly horrible. David helped me out with a few questions I had shortly after my last surgery. I know how busy doctors are, but he always found time for us. We, as a family, need to do something for David's family IMHO. Just so tragic. Texan_Til_I_Die
I think the best thing any of us could do would be to sign up as organ donors. I believe different states have different laws regarding this. Find out what your state requires and get the appropriate paperwork filled out. You might save someone's life. David was a true man.....a man that will be greatly missed. I have gotten to know him through the forums and pm's and we have a mutual friend that lives near me! Not sure he even knows this. My prayers go out to his family, friends, and coworkers. David.....you will truly be missed my friend! It is a blessing to me to know that you are sitting in heaven right now with our Creator! God bless!
