Huntress
I bought my first climbing stand Saturday---Summit SS Viper. It is the coolest thing I've ever used and I will definatly be taking it with me every day this season! The down side is, I'm scared of heights and as a kid my dad didn't allow me in tree stands but now that I'm old enough I'm getting in one, even if it takes me all summer to let myself make it to hunting height. Lol... I wasn't paying attention yesterday and when I looked down I scared the crap out of my self. I was only at 16 feet, but on the back side of the tree was a straight down ditch so it looked like 25 feet...it took me an hour to make my feet move to get back down...lol... I'm gonna do it though, even if my knees are knocking, I'll get to the woods 2 hours before daylight. I absolutely can't wait until bowseason!! Marijane Ps...Don't EVER buy the Gorilla Greyback Climber!! (I know this is strictly opinion, sorry for those of you who like them.) I bought one first because they are very light but spend the extra 30-40 bucks and get a Summit. You can't beat them!

Turkeygirl
Nice stand! You know you don't have to go up too high, but that's a matter of choise. The stand I hunt the most during archery, is only about 10 feet up...the highest I maybe go up in a climber is maybe 15-20. One of our other lock on stands is maybe 15 feet up...maybe

back40
Hunting all day may be the answer since you'd be ascending and descending in the dark when your fear of heights should not bother you as much. I can assure you comfort will not be an issue with the Viper.
Master_Chief
I love my Summit as well. Like you I don't care for heights, but a treestand has never bothered me.

hoosierhunter
Quick tip don't ever climb a shag bark hickory in it, b/c it will be a nightmare getting down. Trust me I have made that mistake before. It's a unbelievable advantage to have a climber and be able to move whereever you want. I will say that make sure you try to get in shape though b/c I sweat like a hog if I'm not. GL with it.
