Turkeygirl
So like 2 weeks ago when I was still working custodial, I did something to my back..it was stiff and sore and it felt like I was leaning to the right or something. Mom took me to the chiropractor and he fixed me up and said I was 1/2" out of alignment:eek: So I was taking it easy, my back was better, then over the weekend ran up our porch stairs, tripped and did all but land on my face...I landed on the dog and and a veggie plant:rolleyes: Well being a week on Weds. since the chiropractor, you'd think my back would be normal. Well it's still been kind of stiff and sore whenever I bend over and I still kind of get this funny twinge at the back of my hip. So I guess I have to go back to the chiropractor - call and see if I can get in today or tomorrow). And at $30 a visit, not exactly cheap, but we don't have a Dr. yet to get a referral from because the DR. we thought about for our insurance is not very good in his practice from what we've heard. So I guess tripping on the porch stairs didn't help:p Anyone else have similar back issues? I'm just wondering if being a 1/2 inch out of alignment takes longer than a week to get over...I've got like a 5-7 hour van ride to the Daks on Sunday for joint staff training, so I'm not sure how comfortable that will be but oh well
wtnhunt
Anyone else have similar back issues? Not to complain, but sure do Ruth, and here lately it has been really bothering me down my left side into my leg and hip, most of the time more of a nagging pressure than a severe pain. Have been fighting with lower back pain on and off for several years, herniated a disc in the same area working for UPS when I was younger. The problem comes and goes, and something as simple as stepping in a hole playing with the kids in the yard can trigger it. Our neighbor is a retired chiropractor, have gotten a few adjustments from him. I wont go to the family Dr. for my back anymore, all they seem to want to do is put me on steroids, which does not fix anything, only masks the problem. Hope your back gets to feeling better Ruth. I try not to think about it, seems to help.
OJR
You need to have your regular doctor refer you to a nerosurgeon! But before you see him, have your regular doctor do a series of X-rays and a MRI. They will tell if there is something seriously wrong with your back! X-rays by themselves don't show much unless there is something really wrong with you back! If you are having pains down your legs, there is something going on in your back that a chiropractor is NOT going to cure! I have just gone through this whole thing and it was 4 weeks ago yesterday that I had back surgery. It is coming along great! DO NOT hesitate to get this checked out! Turkeygirl
Ouch wtn...doesn't sound fun. Well I have an app. at 6:45pm...ugh I hate evening things but oh well. I'm trying to decide whether to take some things to camp now so I don't have to do any lifting tomorrow morning...or just wait till tomorrow. I do know I'm going to go have a bowl of ice cream on this hot muggy day...:-)
Tominator
I'll toss my back out every now and then, but nothing serious since I got my Select Comfort air mattress. "But wait, there's more!" Sound like a commercial, don't I.

stevebeilgard
fact is, a select comfort cured my aches, too. they cost a bankroll and a half, but are worth it. but ruth, you're a bit too young for that kind of trouble.better have it checked out.
