how much round-up?

Recommended Posts

After looking at roundups website, i found a gallon bottle of round-up concentrate. You are supposed to mix 1.5 fl oz/gallon of water. It contains 32.5 fl/oz. My question then is how much land does 32.5 oz of concentrate cover? I have 1.5 acres of planned land to spray. Thanks again for all your help on my first food plot, trying to do this right. Thanks guys.

can you tell me the concentration (percentage) of active ingredient (glyphosate) on the bottle. If it is 41% which I believe it is since you are mixing at a rate of 1.5oz/gallon--when I apply it with my boom sprayer it takes about 1.5 to 2 quarts per acre of the 41% roundup. I mix the desired amount in 15 gallons of water and that will cover right at one acre. You can buy the generic roundup at most any farm store much cheaper than the name brand---usually around 50 to 60 bucks for 2.5 gallons.

Todd is right here, would go to a farm supply store and get a generic, paid $49.99 plus tax for the last 2.5 gallon jug of glyphosate I bought from rural king here. At the rate of 1.5 ozs per gallon at 1.5 acres, you should use about 22 gallons of water and 33 ozs of glyphosate.
