Guest Friend of David
I don't know these guys/gals from Michigan. But if they are friends of David, I guess you could call them friends of mine even though we have never met. What I cannot understand is how David got folks up there to sing country music in the OR. What's next? Maybe all the CT surgeons will start wearing boots in the OR as well. Swampfox- By the way, although my musical tastes run more towards Hip Hop and R&B, I like all music, from hard rock to C&W. David loved my mean Randy Travis impersonation. The week before I had just put Lonestar's cover of Mark Cohn's Walking in Memphis on my music player I play in the OR for him. Sounds like you knew David, and maybe the ropers he sometimes wore in the OR. I have boots that I used when I rode horses, but now they just sit in my closet and they never make it into the OR (hmmm, except maybe every June 4 from now on). I looked at your profile, hope you don't have a big case in the AM either. Now I'm really going to bed... FoD
Guest swampfox
I looked at your profile, hope you don't have a big case in the AM either. Hip Hop, huh. I can imagine David having trouble squaring his knots with that playing in the OR. That's a great idea I'll have to consider; to wear boots in the OR on June 4 in honor of David. I am not sure I could pull it off like he did. I have no planned cases for the AM, but I did have some tough ones today and I am tired. So I am calling it quits. You are right, FoD. It's not about the calls. Win or lose we should all help our brother by supporting the fund. Having said that, my bid is $1501. Any more and I'll have to go upstairs, wake up my banker (who helped put me through medical school), and get her authorization. And its two flights up. And I just ran 7 miles. And its after midnight local time. See y'all in the morning. God bless all of you. 2 Peter 3 8: But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11: Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12: Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13: Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14: Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. RangerClay
May the Lord richly bless you and keep you. I'm stuck for any other words right now. Well said Steve. wildside
Wildside- I went to Richard's memorial today. Someone read that quote on your post by Albert Einstein. Amazing. FoD That's pretty darn interesting. FYI to the forum folks, Richard was one of the transplant specialists on that flight with David. Several years ago, I cut that quote out of a magazine. It has graced our fridge ever since. To me, it speaks to the marvel, wonder, beauty and grace of life. It's all in how you look at it, and when days come along where I need my eyes adjusted, so to speak, that quote helps.
Guest Friend of David
Congratulations Congratulations, Swampfox! Of course the real winners are Candice and the kids. $3001! Jeramie
Congratulations, Swampfox! Of course the real winners are Candice and the kids. $3001! For anyone who missed my CHALLENGE to everyone out there, please look back a few posts (#47 in this string). Thanks. FoD From FoD.... WIN OR LOSE I WILL DONATE MY $1500 TO DAVID'S FUND. I WOULD LIKE TO CHALLENGE EVERY ONE OF YOU THAT BID TO DONATE THE AMOUNT THAT YOU BID. AFTERALL, IT WAS NEVER REALLY ABOUT THE CALLS WAS IT? IT WAS THE AMOUNT THAT YOU THOUGHT THAT YOU COULD AFFORD TO PUT FORTH TO THIS WORTHY CAUSE. You all are a class act. Through this Im sure his wife will know that David was loved and appreciated by more than family. Nothing can replace him but knowing that others are lending a supporting hand will help them greatly. May God richly bless you, ten fold. Its truly an amazing thing you've done. Anywhere near $20 from the forum members adds up and is one thing but to take a hit like that out of your pocket is something else entirely. Two thumbs up gang. In only knew David from the forums and I am truly Humbled by your generosity and willingness to give without regret.....

For sure! I think the term "labor of love" comes to mind. All efforts put into creating these special calls designed to honor and remember David and to help his wife and children are to be acknowledged and applauded. Amen to that! AdvantageTimberLou
I'm not exactly sure who it is but I think a special thank you is in order for the gentleman who has made all of these wonderful turkey calls. I could be wrong but it appears to be the craftsmanship of our fellow member bowhunter56, Andy. He made one for me for my friend, who/s favorite hunter partner, his wife, died of cancer and from what my other friends are telling me, this friend who got Andy's call is telling everyone about it and how sweet that call is. Thanks again Andy! Andy has a heart of gold and is another angel sent down here from God!
