With all the large icons and signature images each member is using, the forums are obviously going to take longer to load. I've also mentioned before that we constantly have multiple threads on the same topic here. That too slows down the forums. We removed the "Nocked n Loaded" banner on the right side because it was pretty large. That should speed things up a bit, but I won't take all the credit for slowing the forums. Also, no offence! But other places use the same formatte with bigger sigs and avatars! They are not slow like this place! Sorry but I dont agree with this statement. Although I am now used to this formatte, the other was much better. You say about repeat topics, then delete them! Quote Don't take offense, but our members are part of the problem. As for this! I am starting to think its an excuse!!! Steve it takes me just as long sometimes longer, and I am on CABLE!!!!!

I'm on highspeed cable too, and I just had my PC reformated not too long ago too. unioncountyslayer
Oh my goodness! It just took over 5 minutes to make this post. I thought maybe my connection had been lost, then the home page finally came up. Finally made it on and waited and waited to make this post! And I'm on cable! I think I'll take the weekend off. This is ridiculous. Don't forget to downsize your avatars everyone, remember, that's the problem.
Rhino
WOW...some of you guys are a lot more patient than I am. When this site hangs up for more than 10 seconds using my DSL Xtreme service (upgraded 2 weeks ago) I do something else thinking there's another slow down problem here. I did the upgrade on my end to help speed things up. That's almost 3 times the speed of my older DSL service. I've really noticed the difference on other sites. Honestly, it hasn't helped too much here but it's better than it was. Still a whole lot slower than the old system though on the slower DSL service I used to have. Just trying to do whatever I can on my end to help. :D

I'm with this statement right here....;) I have a Comcast 100 Mbps High Speed Cable connection, so these so called over sized Signatures and Avatars shouldn't be a problem for me at all.... but this site is like I'm back on Dial-Up once again ... :( Sorry but I don't see this being and end-user problem at all...
tedicast
Slow here too... just one of the reasons I'm rarely here at all anymore. I still just haven't seen the benifits of this so called "upgrade"

Guest Finn
me too definately faster this morning on second thought, let me re-phrase that...just as slow as it ever was.
Doc
It seems as slow as ever here. The big problem seems to be on the initial log-in page and the forum index page. I looked at the code (on MS Internet explorer, just click "View" and then "Source" to see it). It looks like some pretty standard website coding, so I'm wondering if it might be a problem with the server. Perhaps something happened in the transition that effected the server. I don't know.........just guessing. However that would explain why other sites using the same software would run it at a higher speed. Strut10
Really crawling here, too. Pretty aggravating to sit through the lockups between every page.
arrow32
Running very slow on my end. I thought it was just my computer tho since I ain't used it in a while.
Tominator
Not slow here at all. Weird. The list of rooms is still a little slow to load, but not too bad.

Doc
Well folks, I guess it is what it is. There doesn't appear to be any effort to fix it or even any official acknowledgment that there is a problem. I guess we each have to figure out whether it is something we can live with or not. I have to admit that the frustration level is certainly rising everytime I have to sit there and wait, and wait, and wait for something to happen. I am finding myself spending more time at other sites simply because my patience is beginning to wear a little thin. It's an unfortunate turn of events, but apparently it is a situation that nobody can or will correct. Doc

LifeNRA
What really kills me is that Archery Talk uses the same formatte, and there in no delay when logging in, or changing rooms! Another forum I visit is the same way and uses the same software!
VermontHunter
This server or new software is a total train wreck ... :( I don't think a T1 line on my end would help...
