EXACTLLY what my dad said...just because hes driving for the fool doesnt mean we have to cheer for his other cry baby goons

Let's see if I got this right....

Rick Hendrick is a fool, for being one of the most sucessful owners in Nascar ?? ..:confused:

And 2 of the far most top drivers in Nascar are Crybaby Goons because they win races ?? ..:confused:

All this insanity just because you and your father can't see the talent the Hendrick organization has in it's mitt's ...:confused:

I think I'll refrain from any comments on this one...:rolleyes::confused:

Rick Hendrick is far from a "fool" One of the most compassionate and generous guys in the garage. Ever driver, team member, and other owner will say that as well. Some forget that racing is not even his main business, its his car dealerships, he owns something like 300 or so. Not sure of the exact number but is very high but he is very good at business so it comes as no surprise he is winning championships and races. 10 of 14 races have been won by his team! All 4 of his drivers have won, that in itself is a major accomplishment!!!!

If your ever in North Carolina and near Lowe's Speedway, instead of going into the track go down to his shop. Its about a 1/2 mile from the track, follow Papa Jr. Blvd. and it will lead you into one of the most impressive racing shops in all of motorsports. You will be very surprised and you can see how committed Rick is to winning and getting the key people to make his teams very successful.

So as far as him being labeled a "fool" he is far from a fool, very far! If he's a fool then I'll have what he's having! :) LOL!!

OK, here it is. I don't cheer for Gordon or JJ but I don't dislike them either. I can't hate someone I don't even know. I just have never been a fan because they lack flair to me. I think they look into the mirror and comb their hair too much for me. I don't care what anyone says in here, everyone can relate to Jr. in some way weather it be him hunting, fishing,Atv's,music, shooting, his having a few brews and lets not forget he like women A LOT. This is why I like him. He is just like almost everyone of us. As for Rick Hendrick being a fool, I hardley think so! He is a great family man and even better bussiness man. He just signed on the most popular driver to the most successful team, do the math. If there ever was a dream team in NASCAR this is it!!!!!!! The only thing that would make Hendrick a fool is to seperate JJ and Chad. That team works don't fix it. Where would Gordon and Everham be today if they were still together. It is time to build not reorganize. I see many wins in Hendricks future with all 4 of his teams.

Here's my take on the deal,Little E going to hendrick good choice IMHO,good team that has their stuff together,Making his announcement while he is in the running for the cup, stupid, should have done it at the tail end of the season because his step momma is goin to see that he isn't going to get the good cars ect..they are goin to go to truex who will and is now her go to guy.For the 2008 season watch for a bit of tension in the hendrick camp, that is,Jimmie,Jeff,Dale Jr. all on the same team,A LOT of a Ego's going to try their own little piece of attention at the same time,in other words,to many roosters in the hen house.Going to be interesting to see how this turns out.

I don't see that happening. It's best to get it done and over with now, that way everything can be sorted out now and when testing time comes in January they are ready to go. Teresa isn't the one who prepares the cars either. She isn't going to lose out on all that money (making the chase, good finishes, etc.) just because her step son is leaving.

I don't think that will be a problem. Jeff and Jimmie seem to get along great. Junior has said a few times he gets along with them great. They all have an ego, but there is a ton of talent there. The mos selfish one of that whole group is Jimmie Johnson, but I don't think there will be a problem.

That post makes absolutely no sence at all. I think my 3 year old cousin puts 3 sentences together better than that. Or at least I think thats 3 sentences.

I disagree,, Rick Hendrick has always maintianed an equal camp for everyone. Each team has the same goal with equal equipment, so if you aren't winning at Hendrick Motorsports don't blame the equipment or testing time...;)

As far as the ego's go at HMS,, Jeff has nothing to worry about there,, he's the master of that camp.. NO ands if's or but's about that one...:D;)

HMS has proven already this year they have NO problems with racing each other hard for a win....;)

Im just wondering what No. he will have now?..Does he own the 8?

either way Im now a JR. fan too..LOL

His Stepmother owns the #8. Even though #5 was the number of the very first Cup car Rick Hendrick ever fielded, he stated that he would be willing to trade it for the #8 if Theresa was agreeable. Junior made it clear he would love to keep the #8 if possible. Hopefully, a deal can be worked out. ;)

Here is my displeasure and point of view. First of all Ive been watching Nascar since Ken Schrader and Geoff Bodine was the stud boys for Hendrick. And Id like to add at that time Schrader drove the 25 Kodiak car and Bodine the 5 Levi Garrett car. One early report was Junior wasnt going to RCR because Budwiester and Jack Daniels couldnt be with the same team whatever doesnt matter now anyways. Ive seen alot of changes and I'll admit changes for the better at Hendricks, but when Gordo arrived I found that someone I couldnt stand and then JJ came on and imo started becoming into a Gordo clone. And my resentment for the team started to grow stronger every day. Not because Hendrick did anything wrong but as a sports fan you have guys or teams for whatever reason you just despise or even hate. And well this team for me became that team. And I beleive for alot of other people once Junior arrived on the scene just look at the bottle tossing incidents arround at least 2 of Gordo's wins in the past few seasons. A few years back a buddy and I was sharing this pad and at the time we was drunken Nascar Rednecks. The front room looked like a sports bar comple with a 1/2 scale hood and a authentic tire off the old #3 car on the walls. And if you walked in our pad with a Hendrick shirt hat or whatever on you had to options 1. Take it off and leave it outside(and this went for the ladys to) 2. Leave. Our main scheme in our little pad was done up in basically 4-5 drivers, Junior, His papa, Smoke, Turex Jr(not much though still in busch at the time), Davey Allison, and Alan Kulwicki.

With all that said I think you could see my personal discust in his desiion right for him or not. I relate it to Johnny Damon signing with the Yankees, personaly the day Deion Sanders, Bill Parcells, Terry Glenn, Eddie George, Chan Gailey, Ernie Mills, or even Drew Bledsoe signed with the Cowboys. Be like if Bobby Knight left Indiana for Kentucky, or if Lloyd Carr went to Ohio State to coach the football program. Personaly Im done with Junior. Is it for the right reason probably not but hey its sports and the greatest thing about sports is you can like whoever for whatever and dislike whoever for the same reason. Now I do have some Junior diecast looking for a new home, lol.

And as for my ex-roomy, when we discussed this and rember he was just like me. He tucked tail and said it was the best move for Junior and that he'll continue rooting for him. IMO he'll be wearing a 24 hat in a year or two. And when he does, Im buying a FORD!!!

In response to BeagleMan, I first have to say welcome to the forums. I have a beagle myself and can understand the name fully. Second though is the issue of your buddy turning tail and running when asked his oppinion. I see it as being loyal to a driver just like when they aren't winning. You don't abandon your driver no matter who they drive for. It's about their performance and no one else's. I don't give a flip who he drives for but his odds just went up exponentially simply because he's not only driving with Hendrick power and equipment but he's bringing 7 1/2 years of experience and 17 wins with him and that's in less than stellar equipment. Imagine what a driver like himself can do with the cars that won 10 of 14 races this season. I think that when Jr. is relaxed and focused he can win and place as well as anybody that ever was or is to be. He's like a rookie sensation now that he's got the right team behind him. One thing you have to give Hendrick credit for is matching the right people to the right people. I think that if Jr. doesn't get Eury Jr. then Hendrick will put Jr. with the car chief he let take the reigns when JJ got suspended last year. I can't remember his name but he seemed to make the right calls when it counted.

Im not saying Junior personaly made a wrong decision at all. I expect him to make a strong run for several championships now. The thing about DEI being a sub-par term I agree with in the last few years, but I feel DEI was a strong up and coming team on the verge of greatness until something happened what I dont know. New cars, new engines, or maybe a certain womans ego.

My main point was I personally feel betrayed. Junior has no commitment to me or anyone else I know. But find some Red Soxs fans and ask them how they felt when Johnny Damon signed with the Yankees or how they felt even when Roger Clemens signed with NY even though he was I beleive 2 years removed from Fenway. Thats just how I feel. And personally my current favorite driver because of this move will be Martin Turex Jr. Say what you will about DEI(and for the record before Gordon came on the scene Earnhardt Sr. was the guy I couldnt stand) but I still they can turn it around especially with the potential of the new engine program, the one in which DEI and RCR are teamin together ala Yates-Roush engines. Beleive those engines have lead Rousch to 2 championships. Turex being in DEI has nothing to do with him replacing JR in my eyes. This driver is honestly the first driver Ive ever fallowed through his entire Busch career up to Cup. He drives a Chevy and who here doesnt love that sponsor?
