Jeramie
I just made another post about rain and my cell rings. Its the wife. We live about 1.5 miles south (as the crow flies) from Robert S. Kerr Dam. It generates all of the power for this area. Low and behold a generator or substation was hit by lightning. Power is out to pretty much everyone in that area. This same thing happened a couple of months ago. It takes hours to fix and is even worse if its raining.... My AC will be off all day. My fish in the aquarium better be good at holding their breath, and I have a well so no water.... Im kinda getting tired of these spring storms..... Guest Andrea
Not to poke fun Jeramie, but I bet it won't be too hard to get some water. Just get a few buckets. At least you'll be able to flush the toilets....
Tominator
Sounds like you're a candidate for a standby generator. I've been so close many times.

After this past winter and days without power because of the Ice storm, Ive thought about it. It may just move up the list a little.
wtnhunt
Sounds familiar. Being out in the sticks has some downsides, the power companies sense of urgency at getting our power restored when it goes out just happens to be one of them. I have rolled over the thought of one of those standby generators many times, and may eventually take the hit and get one. Definitely no fun having no water and air for any duration in the summer. Guest Finn
that happens up by my parent's place all the time. They just bought a generator last year. I plan to get one right away when I get up north.
Jeramie
I hope they got it all fixed up for ya. They did. Shut down a couple of hillbillies and it make take a while, you shut down an entire town and someone notices.....
