muggs
A local sports talk radio show has a "who said this" competition where they play a quote of a famous person (sports figure and others), if you know who it is and call in you win a prize package. They current quote has gone unsolved for 5 weeks and the prize package is huge. So, does anyone know who said: "If there's any heat, I'm the guy in the kitchen, and I'm going to take it." Please help, Yahoo and Google don't work.
buckbuster11
Is it a Cleveland sports figure or could it be anybody?
muggs
Anybody, even someone outside of the sports world. Most likely, it's a sports figure, but who knows. The voice, as far as I can tell, sounds like an older white male. I want to say Sparky Anderson maybe, I sent that in via email, and they haven't mentioned it so who knows... buckbuster11
I have no idea man.....
muggs
Probably why it's gone on 5 weeks. The prize package right now is: $75 gift card to Swingos on the Lake (great restuarant in C-Town) A LeBron Fathead wall decal $50 Dick's Sporting Goods gift card Free round of golf for a foursome at a local course 2 Free tickets to a Tribe Game of your choice. I want it bad. Usually, it's one of those per contest, but since it's gone on 5 weeks it's built to that level.
punkinslinger
Mike Ditka????????????????????
wildside
A few possibilities come to mind, many of which I'm sure have already been used as guesses in the contest. Any of these head coaches: Rod Marinelli of the Detroit Lions (because they just can't seem to win), Bill Belichick of New England (sour after the last loss to Indy) or Bill Parcells during his latest stint with Dallas (with the whole QB fiasco). On the political front, President Bush or Donald Rumsfeld. You'll have to let us know the answer when someone (hopefully you!) finally wins. muggs
Ditka, Belichik, and Rumsfield are three good ones. I'll have to wait until tomorrow, but I'll give them a shot.
MCH
I've got four guesses: Isiah Thomas Grady Little Stan Van Gundy Pat Riley
buckbuster11
Hmm.....good call on Isiah there Kev. That just might be it.
muggs
Riley was already guessed a bunch of times that I've heard, but I'm liking Grady Little ala moments after leaving Pedro on the mound in the ALCS.

Tominator
Two guys popped into my brain, and I don't know why. Lou Pinella and Jim Leyland.
muggs
Two guys popped into my brain, and I don't know why. Lou Pinella and Jim Leyland. It actually sounds a lot like Lou Pinella. I'd swear it was him, but it's been guessed and it wasn't him. I'm running out of ideas. It's still going on too, even the host wants someone to just guess it already.:o
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
does this radio station have a website or anything so others can hear the guy saying it??
rhine16
You arent the only one searching for the answers. Just found this while trying to search the answer Thank you to everyone who answered my question. There were a lot of great answers. There is a contest on a Cleveland radio show and they play the quote and you have to guess who said it. I have sent in all of the answers that you guys came up with but none of them were correct. It sounds a LOT like Joe Torre but it wasn't him. If anyone has any other ideas I would be extremely grateful to hear from you.
muggs
LMAO, yeah, I saw that on Yahoo Answers too.
rhine16
I cant figure it out. White male coach i think for sure. I'm thinking basketball or baseball.
muggs
There's been a lot of good guesses too. The only clue they have given was to "think outside the box a little bit." For whatever that's worth. I've heard Torre and LaRussa guessed about 40 times already.

muggs
Yeah, I personally guessed Steinbrenner, and then Brian Cashman and those weren't it. I'm telling you, it's nearly impossible and has been going on 6 weeks. There's been tons of guesses too. Everyone from Gary Sinese to George Bush Sr.

muggs
It doesn't sound like Gretzky, maybe Mario Lemuiex...maybe. But hockey doesn't get much coverage in Cleveland so I doubt they'd go that route.
