Ohiobucks
I've been seeing a number of deer right behind my house, so I thought I would dust off the trail camera and get it back in the woods. Problem is, I can't find it! I've been all through my barn, all through my room and closet, asked the kids if they have seen it, etc, etc, and nothing. I'm beginning to wonder if I left it out in the woods last year.......I KNOW I brought it home though. Still looking for it around the house, but next time I'm down to the hunting property, I'm taking a quick walk to the last place it was hanging last fall/winter..... I'm such a moron....... wtnhunt
That is really pretty funny Tom. Good luck finding it. Our cams pretty well stay out year round, have had issues finding them in the field on a few occasions.
Bownarow
I've had a similar experience myself. Except I knew mine was on a particular tree and it ended up some lowlife swiped it! After only 1 year in service my Cudde dissapeared never to be used again. The password protection prevents anybody from using it ever again that doesn't know the password. So basically it was stolen for no reason other than somebody was trespassing and didn't want to get caught. Talk about a sick feeling. No only did I invest a lot of my hard earned money into that thing but I also really enjoyed the pictures I got off of it. The worst part of it is now I don't even want to get a new one b/c I'm afraid it will get stolen too. So now I don't get to experience the enjoyment of getting all those great pictures. I emailed Cuddeback and told them my story to see what they might have to say about it. I never even got a response back from them. Losing a customer must not be that important to them. I really liked the camera but was soured by the lack of response from them. I really hope you find your camera man. I loved having a camera and it's so cool getting those pictures. Been there done that. Bought my dad one for Christmas and 3 months later it was ripped off a tree. But it really wasn't Cuddeback fault some scum bag stole the camera and I am sure they get LOTS of those emails. The best they could have done was says sorry, please buy another so we can make even more money. Another time my dad was convinced he had another one stolen he could not find it in the area he was "sure" he had it. Well I found it one day walking through the woods hanging on the tree he put it on. So I brought it home he was so happy, then he felt dumb for forgetting where he had it. I told him that forgetfulness comes with old age,:D he reminded me I would get there too some day.

We use a gps to mark the locals of our cameras when on a new property or a large property because in the summer the woods looks the same with all the green. might have your dad try that so next time he will not forget where he put it. just a thought

dogdoc
i'm bettin' Chris or Muggs are getting good pics with it.. lol:D I went to retrieve a camera once and noticed it wasn't there. The thief would have had to saw thru the thick cable lock. Tree looked completely normal--no marks at all. I was bummed out--got home all upset then it dawned on me the camera was sitting in my closet--took it homea the time before and totally forgot---SENIOR MOMENT. " Hey go put that camera here, or there." Yep since I moved home I'm the only one that messes with them, he just enjoys the pictures. Bownarow
I keep hoping I am just being forgetful, but I know I had it on that tree. I always look in other areas that I have put it before just in case it is there. If I find it, I'll be the first to tell everyone how dumb I was for forgetting where it was. I would just be happy to have it back.

Bachflock
Best of luck finding the camera. As far as thieves go a local guy was cought stealing tree stands. They tied him to 15 different thefts last year. He was keeping all the stands in his barn hoping to sell them at some time. A guy should be able to enjoy the woods without worrying about some idiot out there looking to pilfer his stuff.

Ohiobucks
Guess what I found??!!?? The old saying is so true, it is always in the last place you look. Went to town tonight to grab some dinner and a quick visit to Lowe's and my daughter found my trail camera in the back seat pocket of my Chevy. Right where I put it last fall..... Batteries are charging as I type and it will be back in a tree in no time!
