257bob
For the last two seasons I have used the Copper Johns Dead Nuts 5 Pin and I have not been real happy with this sight. I do mostly stalking in the pastures and milo fields in the Panhandle of Oklahoma and it seams every year a pin or two breaks. I am looking for any advice on durable sights, preferably from someone who spends more time belly crawling through the grass than in a tree stand. I want a 5-6 pin sight with .019 pins this I know. Is there anybody out there that has found the perfect stalking sight?
Leo
Check this one out. May be what you are looking for. http://www.blackgoldsights.com/bow_sight_flashpoint.html
hutchies
I've never had one break in the field on my CJ. I keep extra fitz fiber though incase one does. I can fix it in a minute or two.
257bob
The fiber optic always breaks in the middle on the bottom two pins. I replace the pins every year. I was just hoping to find something that didn't break so easily. How do you replace the fibers in the pins themselves?
hutchies
You feed the fiber thru the hole after pulling the old piece out. Mushroom the end with a lighter. Pull tight snug into hole and feed into holder hole. Very easy to do. Buy the SD.......I have the LD and the SD are almost as bright and work just as well. http://www.fitzfiber.com/photoplog/index.php?c=
257bob
Thanks, I think I will order some and try it. At least until I find a sight that I like better.
hutchies
If you want to spend the money buy the best............Spott Hogg Hogg IT. http://www.spot-hogg.com/product_sight_hogg-it.shtml
257bob
I have been looking at the spot hogg sights and the sure loc lethal weapon sights. I know all about the spot hogg sights and am sure I wouldn't regret the purchase, but I just can't get past the $. I am also interested in the new CJDN2 because they are now micro adjust. Leo
Sorry I picked the wrong model in my first post. This is the one I think you'll be interested in. http://www.blackgoldsights.com/duskdevil_ultimate_hunter.html There is a write up on the Dusk Devil here. http://www.fastestbows.com/reviews/duskdevil2_hindsight2.html The pins on this sight are super strong and Montana BG covers the whole sight for life. Guest Smity
http://www.extremearchery.com/ They make nice sights for a nice price. The pins are nice and bright so you won't have to buy any addons to make it brighter!!
wtnhunt
A lot of great sights out there. Some wont cost and arm and a leg either. Put a carolina foxfire 3 pin deluxe sight on my bow last fall and have been very pleased with it. Easy and quick to adjust the pins and seems to be very durable construction too. Chrud
Take a look at Spot Hogg and Sure-Loc.
Gator
Look at the Toxonics also. The fiber is wrapped around the pin, to keep from breaking the fiber, think they do have a 5 pin model. This may be the ticket, and for alot less than some of the others
PAstringking
i shoot an extreme sniper now and love it. great sight and durable. if you want the best though....i would go with Spot-Hogg.
EKYhunter
If you want to spend the money buy the best............Spott Hogg Hogg IT. http://www.spot-hogg.com/product_sight_hogg-it.shtml Exactly! Can't buy a better sight than the SH. I've got a hunter hogg-it on a Mathews XT and a Real Deal on a Q2. Can't beat their durability and adjustability. I don't think you'd ever regret purchasing one. booner1331
I've been looking at new one too...... I'm checking out the Spot Hogg too
Guest Dawg93
Looking at the Spott Hoggs....and the Extreme......I went with the Extreme .19 pins. Why? Spott Hogg with the Wrap was too much. I like my Extreme with the sight light on the rear of the fiber optics.
