I am gonna change over to a pin sight this season. I have been hunting with a pendulum and I am happy with it but i do believe that the pins will be the more accuate way. Question is I aam wanting to spend between 50-80 buck on the sight and I was wondering could you recommend a good sight that works well in low light conditions and is durable and easy to set up. Also whats the difference in the .029 and .019 pins besides size difference and which would you recommend. And is a sight light worth it or is that just a waste?

Thanks!

I shoot a Cobra Sidewinder Radiant 3-pin on my bow and love it. Cobra sight pins are the brightest I have ever shot and are also decently priced. I picked mine up for $80. The Cobra Sidewinder Radiant comes with a sight light already installed. Also, the 2007 models are really nice because the pins are completely reinforced, unlike the earlier models.

The difference in .029 and .019 is the field of view when focusing the pin on your intended target. The closer the target is, the bigger you want your pins to be. The farther the target, the smaller you want your pins because the smaller pin will be less obstructive on the smaller target at such a far range.

I have not done this yet, but I will someday, I want to make my pins on my sight go from really big on top to small on bottom, I think this will improve my shooting.

I just bought and installed the Cobra Boomslang sight o one of my bows. That is one bright sight. Sitting on my des kin almost complete darkness for a couple of days before I was able to install it tonight the pins were visible. I hope to shoot it and site it in tomorrow.

i shot a trophy ridge for the last 4 years and have done well(5 pin. .029) but have changed to a tru-glow 4 pin with a pin that came w/ it(it doesn't need a light w/it) i shot the .029 pins, and have found that they are easier for me, in a hunting situation. but if you get a chance to shot both you can find out yourself what you perfer.
