I'm home

I guess I should tell you where I've been before saying I'm home. If I had internet access in my room I'd have let you know. Anyway...

I'd been having a strange pain in my right leg for a few days, so Tuesday I went to the doc expecting to get a pain pill and a bill. Instead, I got sent to the hospital for an ultrasound on my leg. Big blood clot. That was enough to earn myself a room for a few days.

That night, they wanted to do a CT scan of my lungs and an ultrasound of my heart. The heart turned out fine, but the lungs had 'a lot' of clots, though they never said exactly what 'a lot' meant.

A few days of blood thinners (shots to the stomach), being woken up to be given a pill so I can sleep , hooked up to a heart telemetry monitor and generally being poked and prodded and all seems to be pointing toward a clean bill of health... eventually.

The doc says it'll still be a few weeks (or months) until they're gone, but I'm headed in the right direction. I'll be on blood thinners for a few months and off work for a few weeks, otherwise, they said I'm in pretty good health. He did suggest I look for a new line of work, and I told him he was preaching to the choir. I'll be doing that once I get a clean release and know my insurance has covered everything. I've already looked and coke is always hiring drivers locally. Yeah, its still driving but at least I'll be able to get out and unload and set up displays, so I won't just be sitting all day.

All-in-all I'm not much worse for wear, just glad to be home. Hospitals are boring.

Glad to see you are on the road to recovery Steven and please listen to your doctors.

Sitting long hours in the cab of that 18 wheeler does take a toll on your body. Get a local run if you can and try to avoid long hauls.

Wish you the best my friend and glad to have you back on here. Was also nice of your nephew to let us know!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I didn't even know my nephew posted a thread until it was mentioned here. I wonder how he got my log in info .

Anyway, as far as the job goes, I'm being held accountable by my buddy, Corbin. He's known me forever and knows that I'll complain about a job, but, through my own loyalty, won't do anything else. So, he's really staying on my case about changing jobs. He's had to do it before- he knows when I need to be yelled at.;)
