Guest tornado
with some ribbing from randy (ha ha ha), i am planning to take my 4-year old daughter fishing next weekend. surprisingly, i'm not worried about her...it's the fishing line on my pole. the line has not been changed(?) ever. i was told i have to change it. true? and how? lol or is it better to take the thing to a pro? Tominator
How old is the line? In most cases, true, you want to change it at least every year, especially if you use it a lot. Line gets twisted, frayed and brittle as it gets older. It's easy to replace, just strip the old line and spool the new stuff on. Is it a spincast, or baitcast? With spincast reels, you want to make sure you put it on correctly, or the new line will be twisted. I just re-spooled with Stren, and they had the instructions in the box. Good luck trying to fish with a 4 year old. In my experience, you'll be baiting, untangling, unsnagging, and unhooking too much to worry about your own line. LifeNRA
Lets just say I buy line by the 2400 yard spools! Depending where I go, I could change my line before every trip! Most times I get 2-4 trips before changing line. But yeah, I would get some new line spooled on there!
