elkoholic
on further thought I am beginning to think that any deer in the record books should have an asterisk next to it if it lived anywhere within a ten mile walk of any area altered by the hand of man. That way only truly "wild" deer would be considered for trophy designation. Hmmmm..... Maybe we just have too much time on our hands and want to micro-manage everything. We can not all live/hunt in areas where food plots/agricultural fields exist and the chance for a trophy buck could be a reality. Me? I'll take the forested slopes of northwest Montana over the crop land along the Milk River in the north central part of the state. As long as you are having fun and bringing home the steaks, then who really cares about an asterisk
Texan_Til_I_Die
You can count me as one of those who is unashamedly trying to influence antler growth by supplemental feeding. We've got over 600 ACRES of food plots, plus numerous free choice protein feeders, plus numerous mineral licks. I'm also aggressively trying to improve herd age and genetics through an intensely managed harvest strategy.

ruttinbuc
It all goes back to the question of why we hunt.

Jodyslilbro
No. In order to get a monster buck, for one thing, it takes some good genetics for a good rack. Then it comes down to the doe population which I don't think is true because I hunt where there are a whole bunch of does and there are huge bucks around. I read that part in a magazine but I don't believe it
